I am.... strangely not that upset by this hire. Will wait to see what assistants he brings in. Personally not a big fan of play-calling head coaches myself, not that it's impossible to do.

That Rhule contract is nuts though. No matter how you look at it.

I have no idea if Judge will be a decent coach or not, but my issue is with the process. If Rhule is your supposed top choice, how the f*** do you not make certain his first interview is with your organization? These guys have egg all over their faces. This is beyond embarrassing.

Shouldn't even be a debate. The Giants have won four titles in my lifetime and the Knicks none. Case closed.

How bout this. The Knicks have won two titles in my lifetime, so that makes the Giants half as embarrassing as the Knicks.

If you could actually measure such a metric, the NYG are trending upward in a hurry on the embarrassment scale.

"• Are his coordinator hires important? Definitively, yes. But you can say the same about most new head coaches. Two of the guys still alive in the playoffs, Tennessee’s Mike Vrabel and Green Bay’s Matt LaFleur, only called plays for one year before becoming head coaches. Another, Kansas City’s Andy Reid, was never a coordinator before getting his first head-coaching shot. Both coaches in the college football national championship, LSU’s Ed Orgeron and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, were just position coaches before becoming head coaches. Bottom line, play-calling is a very small part of being a head coach, and there’s very little correlation between a candidate’s play-calling ability and making a strong hire."

Joe Judge. Or as I call him At Least He's Not Jason Garrett.

A lot of this broke when I was leaving on a work trip.

1. I actually really like Joe Judge. He was my third or fourth choice, but I actually liked a few candidates this year (versus the complete joke of a rush job where Shurmur was hired).

2. I HATE the process. I hate it. I hate that we missed out on our top pick once again. Why are we allowing franchises like Detroit and Carolina dictate what we do? How is that a good thing?

I give the hire a B. I like Judge. I give the process an F.

I like the intensity...He seems pretty clear on how to move forward. He is young but hey lets give him a chance. He handled the media as well as anyone in NY

I think the process has changed where things have gradually but consistently moved faster and faster. I think the news came out that the Giants were going to hire Shurmur on January 22. The process is speeding up.

I was intrigued by Rhule but I can certainly not understand meeting or matching the contract the Panthers gave him.

Judge, to me, is refreshing change and out of the box pick. The most simple, predictable hire would have been Garrett.
