Apparently the ask was a 1st and 2 2nds

I’d trade Adams for that too

If this was the ask, it's hard to imagine they were calling teams trying to trade him, and I love Jamal, but this team needs so much if you got 3 assets back I would do it in a heartbeat.

So I wonder which team Giants/Jets fans feel is more promising for the future and neither is not an answer, Giants/Jets or the Rangers? On the one hand, I think the Rangers have more quantity of top talent, on the other hand, I think they may have found their QB which is half the battle so I think the Giants. I do like Gorton more than Gettleman.

Sorry, was backpacking all weekend late to the latest round of Gettleman's "I'm the smartest guy in the room" bullshit. I swear, every time I start to come around on his moves he does something like this.

So either we just traded a likely top 7 pick in the 3rd round for an 8 game rental on a 2-6 team....

Or we just traded super high 3rd and 4th round picks for a RUN STUFFING interior D lineman.

Which is pretty funny considering not too long ago Gettleman befuddled football draft analysts by drafting a RUN STUFFING interior D lineman with the 17th overall pick in the last draft...

Which was kinda funny cause the year before he'd spent 2 of his 6 picks on run stuffing D linemen.

Which makes it really funny that the year before the Giants used their very high 2nd round pick on a RUN STUFFING interior D lineman!!!

So just to tally the cost of what the Giants (and mostly Gettleman) has spent on this defensive line in the last 4 seasons.

2020 ~65th pick (3rd rounder)
2020 (4th or 5th rounder)

2019 17th pick (1st rounder)
2019 7th rounder

2018 69th pick (3rd rounder)
2018 139th pick (5th rounder)

2017 55th pick (2nd rounder)

I don't think it's even close who has the more promising future...it's clearly the Rangers.

Though both the Giants and Jets have some nice pieces..ie...Jones and Barkley with the Gmen...Darnold and JAdams with the Jets, both teams have tons of needs still and both their futures are so uncertain, I couldn't even fathom a guess when either of those two teams will be playoff contenders let alone challenge for a Super Bowl.

The Rangers on the other hand tho there are going to be plenty of hiccups this year have alot more talent than the Jets and Giants as is and their prospect pool is stocked to the brim with players that are on the cusp of making it to the NHL.

Rangers appear to have a plan and one can clearly see this team being a playoff contender as early as next year and within 2-3 years from now being serious Cup contenders. Both the Giants and Jets if lucky if everything goes right will maybe be playoff contenders in a couple of years but no way SB contenders for the foreseeable future.

So yeah for me, it's an easy call...the Rangers have a much brighter future than both NY football teams.

Article in the Post about Darnold and Jones.

I'd rather have Jones imo.

I won't speculate about the future, but IMO if Jones played at USC he'd have been a similar caliber prospect to Darnold. Darnold should never have been considered that much better of a prospect and the discrepancy in media reaction for the pick should never have been as large as it was.

It's closer than I thought...I'll be honest, but I'd still take Darnold's upside going forward over Jones. If Douglass does what he should do and what I anticipate he will do after the season and totally revamp the O-Line both by the draft and UFA, I think Darnold will be much more consistent and have more days like he had vs the Cowboys than he did last week vs the Jaguars.

When the trade deadline passed and no Adams trade was made, I foolishly thought the Jamal Adams ride was over and no more twists were coming. Don't I feel stupid.

“He practiced fully this week and was limited with no contact the two weeks before that,” said coach Pat Shurmur. “He told (Sr. VP Medical Services/Head Athletic Trainer) Ronnie (Barnes) last evening (Saturday) he didn’t feel well and was sent for examination and evaluation. When he arrived for work this morning, he still did not feel well. At that point, the decision was made to continue in the concussion protocol.”

Jets are the worst team in the NFL, confirmed. Just another 5-6 years of rebuilding and we might begin to think about challenging for a wild card spot, if we're lucky in the draft.
