100% correct.

Mr. Crazy Eyes has no authority in personnel.

The Johnson's should have fired Gase too. Let Williams coach the team this season.

"I've been able to make some calls this morning, this is what I found out. Adam Gase had NO IDEA Mike Maccagnan would be fired... Issue was with Maccagnan and Heimerdinger, something went down between them... Chris Johnson let them both go"

It's insane how Fake News gets pushed and spreads like wildfire

Maccagnan should have been fired along with Bowles. His acquisition of Darnold bought him some extra time. It turns out it was only 4 months. Maccagnan was an awful GM. The Jets were the only team to interview him in his career to interview him for a GM job. His old boss Charlie Casserly got him the job.

Jeremiah is solid. He is good follow on twitter. He knows his stuff. He loves Darnold and Williams.

“I think they’re in a pretty good spot,” Jeremiah said of the Jets during a Thursday conference call with reporters. “If the question is ‘what would I do?’ then I would take Quinnen Williams and I wouldn’t turn back. I would pair Quinnen Williams with Leonard Williams. And I think you’ve [then] not only got guys that can rush a little bit, you’ve got guys that can hold the point of attack — in a division with a Patriots team that’s become increasingly interested in running the football. You’ve got something to hold up inside, and I think he’d be a great fit.

“Who impacts the game the most out of all those [three] guys? I would still stick with Quinnen, because I think he impacts the game on every single down.”

NFL Draft 2019: Picking this defensive star at No. 3 could help Jets topple Patriots, says NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah

Jeremiah and Douglas worked together in Baltimore.

I'm thrilled that clown is gone. It's worth the jokes we're hearing today. Too bad we can't get rid of the Johnsons next.

Yea i would have kept him over a 6th. Weak

He’s fine. Not great. Bad in coverage but he can make some plays and tackles in the middle of the field. Has some speed too. Perfectly fine in your LB rotation.

Eh, I don't understand giving Darron Lee away for a 6th round pick, but whatever.

Tone-setting move by Gase. The old regime had been talking with the Chiefs for a while and held up a deal because they wanted a 5th instead of a 6th. This is Gase's chance to send a message by immediately shipping out a disappointing player with previous attitude issues (that may or may not have skipped OTAs) within hours of taking over control of the roster, and not letting things fester any longer by squabbling over a late round pick. It goes beyond the compensation.

Gase could end up being a disaster here, but I don't hate this move and the message it sends.

Tell me about Lee IMMEDIATELY Jets fans pls

Small, but speedy LB miscast as an inside LB in a 3-4. He would often guess at the direction of the run on the snap. When guessing correctly, he would make a splash play in the backfield. When guessing incorrectly, he would run past the play. He doesn't handle blockers coming at him and gets wiped out. He's better in space. He was known for being a very good coverage LB in college, but was pretty poor early on, but got better with time.

Personally I thought he sucked in our system. Let's not forget that he got into a physical confrontation with a woman at a concert and had to be restrained by Leo Williams. He was suspended for 4 games last year for substance abuse which I believe means that's he's been caught at least 3 times. He's also allegedly pretty immature and not well liked by teammates fwiw. For a 6th rounder, it's worth the risk I guess for KC.

Gase as a HC dealing primarily with the offense combined with Williams leading the defense was a combination that I was truly OK with. The pressers that Gase had was working for me as he seemed to have a plan and so I was going to give this a real chance as a long time fan and so was optimistic about the upcoming season.

Now with this news today that Gase now rules the roost and Mac is gone gives me some pause as to this optimistic stance I had. And it's not just because Mac was fired but it's more becauss we are now giving a guy who hasn't done squatole the keys to the car all because he was able to convince our naive owner that he should have all the power due to his megalomaniac ways and knows all that needs to be done to make our god forsaken jinxed franchise successful.

Sorry for the rant I'm about to make but this is not good at all. What has Gase done to deserve the Parcells, Belichek and any other top notch coach over the years treatment? Nothing at all is the correct answer. Sure the pressure was on before all this shit happened today but now the pressure has morphed to stratospheric proportions as there is no honeymoon period at all for Gase. We need to win not just 8-9 games or so this year. We need to make the playoffs otherwise longtime fans like me will automatically become anti-Gase and he will be arch enemy #1 due to this power play he orchestrated to get Mac fired and him being in full control.

Listen, I wasn't the biggest Mac supporter, but he at least deserved to finish out the year to see how the team he built performed. Now tho, Gase is on the hot seat from the onset and with his comments that he really didn't want Bell or Mosley at the price we paid for them, it leaves me thinking that that this is not going to end well as we still have growing pains to go thru and now the expectations have been accelerated to more than just an 8-8 type season which I would have been OK with before this shit today, to where if we don't finish 10-6 or so, there is going to be a. ton of animosity from us Jet fans and it's not going to be pretty.

Just when you think the Jets are finally going to be a normal well run franchise they pull this shit and come across as the same incompetent "same ole Jets"

On a somewhat related note...the Jets, Knicks, Mets and Rangers...my teams I have loved and been loyal too for the past 50 years. I've been to 2...count them...2 f***en parades in my lifetime('86 Mets and '94 Rangers) meanwhile with the Bruins who very much look likely about to win the f'n Stanley f'n Cup, that city will now be about to win their 13th title in past 18 years........someone please take me out of my misery....:eek:

Lee sucks. Small, not good against the run, barely passable in coverage. Not an overly physical player. Maybe some character concerns. Foregone conclusion he was gone this winter.

A sixth is fine. He was a likely backup here, and we'll probably sign too many guys next year to even get a comp pick for him when he's gone. I don't know what you guys were reasonably expecting for a weak player on his way out.

A 6th is actually a good deal.

Seriously. You had a player who:

a) was mediocre at best
b) was walking at the end of the year
c) everyone knew we wanted to dump

I'm not seeing a huge market for that, particularly considering he's already had a suspension and was also involved in that incident with the girlfriend and Leo Williams (which, granted, turned into nothing...but still). Couple that with the likelihood we wouldn't even get a comp pick for him, and it was a no brainer. Sure, a 4th or 5th would have been nice, but I don't think that offer was out there.

I quit the Jets in 2008 after being a fan for 25 years. The whole organization felt unrecognizable, out of touch, and was tired of spending that much time on such a horrible organization especially after being a ranger fan all these years ;)

The Saints were always my 2nd favorite team growing up and Drew Brees was my favorite non Jet so it was an easy transition. Two seasons later they win the Super Bowl, been so happy watching football ever since.

Considering the Giants only got a 5th for Snacks, I still am kinda pissed Lee brought back a 6th. One guy is actually pretty damn good.
