And what were players available at 22 described as? Are some described as goal scorers? Does that mean they'll score in the NHL? Or might they be incorrect?
Scouts are wrong more often than not.22 pick was awful. But please,go ahead and lecture us ole great one

Ultimately, 1st round picks after #10 have like a 20% chance to even play in the NHL much less become impact players in the NHL, so #22 is a roll of the dice regardless of whom you take.

But I still don’t understand the reasoning behind drafting Bjornfot when you have a shot at a huge steal in Kaliyev.

At the very worst Kaliyev busts and oh no where am I going to find another vanilla bottom pairing LH defenseman in this league

Doubt Bjornfoot would have been there, theres been plenty of forwards that have dropped, are you saying they for sure cant pick up scoring with 33?

No of course I'm not. But if scoring continues to drop you grab 2 forwards and suddenly the chances of getting a pure goal scorer this team sorely needs increases.

Jake Muzzin to Toronto for:
Carl Grundstrom, Sean Durzi and Tobias Bjornfot

Fabulous trade! Please do not say it would have been better with Kaliyev or Tomasino or Brink. Give it another year before judging. Helluva trade!!!!! Bjornfot was named top defenseman in SuperElit and a captain for Team Sweden.

GO KING GO!

Now do that for all the other positions and watch how quickly it runs out.

Nondescript 6'0" 200lb d-man who excels at nothing is like the one thing we have infinity of.

He could very well end up a top-4 d-man down the road and it's still a possibly stupid pick.

Yes, the Kings lack everything. That's literally all we've all talked about all year. Possibly a stupid pick, possibly not. Yeah, it's the NHL draft.

That's all fine and good, and I agree, but I don't think Bjornfot is going to be significantly better than Alex Vlasic, who will likely be available at 33. Clague and Anderson are the most likely to be on the team in three years, with an outside chance for Phillips. I just think there are better players on the board that won't be available at 33.

Ok, but that doesn't really change anything. If they feel he's the BPA, then they should take him, regardless of what they do or do not have anywhere else in the system. Things change over 3-5 years. If they're wrong, they'll be fired eventually.
