Kinda glad we didn't win the lottery now. Blake would've picked Turcotte #1.
We'd be lucky if he took Turcotte this clown would have taken Bjornfot!!!

Ever wonder why if people on this board think hes a 30 goal scorer in the nhl, yet dozens upon dozens of scouts have passed....
The guy was ranked 5th best.Kings staff had the talent fall in their lap.Not a difficult pick.22 pick was a joke.He was still the safe pick as he's at worst a 3rd line center. A guy like Zegras or Boldy are more boom or bust...
Not completely against it, by all accounts hes a player that will absolutely play in the nhl, vs the boom bust that everyone wanted in kaliyev
Martinez is one of the large group of babysitters on the roster, he'll be gone before they win again. Forbort will be gone after next year. Brickley is likely nothing. MacD is probably not much. Lintuniemi is probably less than that. Moverare is still in Sweden. Reddekopp is likely nothing. Out of 11, there's 4 that might be something since they're all 21 or younger. Are you listing them as a complaint about the pick, or to emphasis the lack of depth the Kings have in that position?
Now stop with this truth. And as we know pro scouts are never wrong like when we drafted perennial Norris trophy winner Derek Forbort over Tarasenko
Can we please censor his name already? It brings up unwanted memories. And as we know pro scouts are never wrong like when we drafted perennial Norris trophy winner Derek Forbort over Tarasenko
It has nothing to do with how serviceable he may or may not be. He is not going to be much better than we already have and this team still cant score.

Keep this in mind, this isn’t a DL draft but rather a BPA one, so when this scouting staff feels this strongly about a Dman to select him in the 1st round... he must be really good... Clague, Anderson, Phillips and even Durzi were not 1st rounder but Bjornfot was so keep that mind and don’t be surprised not if but when the kid proves to be the right pick...
Yeah, but 22 was looking fantastic a little while ago too33 is lookin good at least
Fair enough, but they had a chance to address scoring whether it was kaliyev or not. That and they could have nabbed a sure thing nhl dman with their next pick. It's a waste imo.
Aki Berg at 18, he was described has a player that can hit like Scott Stevens and skate like Paul Coffey."
I said the same thing about Hickey and Forbort.
We need top end defensemen, not another bottom tier D man.I was a bad pick.We needed top fwd who can scoreI'm perfectly fine with the pick. Let's see how it pans out before we cry over it.
It wasn't off the board either.
People are very happy with Turcotte, and there seemed to be consensus on who people wanted at 22Let's just be honest, we weren't going to be happy no matter who was selected. I knew I was gonna be upset as early as the lottery.
Sound familiar?“Compete and character, we need to get that” Blake on Sportsnet with Friedman.
