That's also not a reason to take a Kopitar clone. There ended up being better players to take than Brown in 2003, but Brown is the only guy to captain his team to even 1 Cup. Some haven't won any Cups. However, that doesn't change the fact that there were better players to be had, who in theory would've given the Kings a better chance to ultimately win. Which they did do with Brown.

Kopitar wasn't just instrumental for the Kings' run, he'd been a top-10 center for years. If you're saying you would prefer a different playing style for the team than a big, 200ft, puck-protecting style center, that's one thing. But are you implying that Kopitar was some sort of passenger on the team, or that his talent and performance weren't top flight?

Dach is a very good player. Doesn’t surprise me at all that CHI is looking at a Center. They are top heavy with Dmen and they won’t all get opps.

COL can take Byram and we will gladly accept Turcotte as our consolation prize.

I think it depends on what Col does with Barrie. If they get a legit 2C out of him, then walk away with Byram and like Newhook, good lord. That's a mobile, good young D mixed with vets: Byram-Makar, EJ-Zadorov, Girard etc

I dont think turcotte is better than dach anyways so i dont think there is need for a smoke screen

Dach gets the shaft more here for some reason and it’s unwarranted. All the draft guys have him high in the ratings. Compare him to Cozens who floats from 4 to 10 in some mocks.

The guy can skate, is big and could keep growing, has some of the best vision and passing skills in the draft after Hughes, high IQ and is only going to fill out. When you see guys comparing him to Thornton that’s a pretty damn good comp.

I think the WHL factor is there too. This decade, there's only been a handful of forwards drafted out of the WHL in the first round that's become a top line or top 6 forward.

I know...it's 3:40 in Denver and I am about to go to their draft party that starts at 6 pm at a bar downtown....as a King fan and watch a bunch of people getting drunk , wearing maroon and blue. Will be the only one that either says "shttt" when they select either Byram or Turcotte OR Cheer if they take Dach OR Zegras. And if the Kings draft Turcotte or Byram, I will be the only one in the bar going HELL YEAH!!!!!!

I’m not a fan of bigger guys in juniors. Or guys who seem inconsistent. Dach seems we’ll regarded and was even drafted high before with Krebs and Byram. I’m no scout. Just a gut feeling. Honestly like Krebs more than Dach and Cozens.

I know he is flawed but I’ve always liked Faulk. Seems like he could be Doughty’s little brother.
