I’ll be shocked if it’s not Dach at this point.Byram if hes there, dont think he will be then Zegras with a slight edge over Dach but it will be one of those 3
Ya kind of a toss up, was reading that article with Yanetti and liked what he said about both Dach and Zegras, just seemed he was more excited in his descriptions of Zegras. Dach was a power play machine and Zegras attackes from everywhere with speed. Who do like between Dach and Zegras?I’ll be shocked if it’s not Dach at this point.
I like Zegras but I’m not a pro scout. I think Chicago will take Turcotte. Colorado will take Byram.Ya kind of a toss up, was reading that article with Yanetti and liked what he said about both Dach and Zegras, just seemed he was more excited in his descriptions of Zegras. I like Simon Holmstrom too.I’m Kind of hoping for Hoglander falls to 33 or we trade up that third pick to get him.
Yep at this point resigned to this outcome.I’ll be shocked if it’s not Dach at this point.
As soon as I read Kopitar lite comparisons to Dach I went with Zegras. Need a guy who's willing to take a few more chances than a Perimitar clone.
Back then the Kings blue line was stellar, now it's about goals. Once the Kings draft him at that point I will say welcome and hope he proves me wrong.Considering Kopitar was instrumental in bringing us to the promised land not once, but twice, I would be very happy with his clone. Y'all are letting recency bias get in the way.
This, I’m just gonna try to be a super fan of whoever they take. Hoping it’s a guy that will be a solid contributor for ten+ years of good hockey. I’ve seen two cups. Anything more is gravy.Considering Kopitar was instrumental in bringing us to the promised land not once, but twice, I would be very happy with his clone. I don't think the hit rate on picks is any higher today than it was 20 years ago. 2 of the Kings top 33 picks probably aren't going to amount to much. That's just how it works. If they get 2 good solid NHL players out of their 10 picks that'd be a solid draft. 3 would be fantastic. The draft is really nothing like it was 20 years ago. It’s technologically superior. Analytics weren’t even a thought back then.
The Kings will do fine.
I think it's really important the Kings grab at least one future star in this draft. A Trevor Lewis and a Derek Forbort won't do. You can't suck for a whole season and come out of it with a couple of "good solid" players.I don't think the hit rate on picks is any higher today than it was 20 years ago. 2 of the Kings top 33 picks probably aren't going to amount to much. I think Mocks outside of top 10 perhaps are totally a crap-shoot. No way to know who's going to be there at 22. Think if one of Harley, Seider, Soderstrom etc are available they'll take one of them. Tomasino if he's still there too, but it's impossible to know.Brink kind of scares me.
“A 5-foot 8, not very physical, average speed but highly skilled winger going to the Kings is a sign of the times changing, as I do believe that organization has slightly changed its preferences at the draft. After going Byram at No. 5, the Kings need skill in the organization, especially with 2018 first-rounder Gabriel Vilardi a question mark.”
- Pronman, in his mock draft.

Ideally we get 1 star player, and another good solid NHLer.
We've had some recent drafts where we've got 2 good players, but 2005 is still the best:
2008: Doughty, Voynov
2007: Simmonds, Martinez
2005: Kopitar, Quick
