That's interesting. Though... am not looking at the cap or #'s until some decisions regarding our current roster get made. I dont know.. If it works, why not. We have enough skilled Barracuda players that can hop in if any injury occurs. Am not sure how to feel about Marleau coming back or somehow adding in Perry.

I will say at this point what have we to lose?

Does Dell have any positive trade value at all? I am running through some numbers and dumping him for Korenar/Bibeau would save us 1M or so. That is basically getting Ryan or Heed back on the roster.

Why in Gods name did you think of that was the case?
No. I've never been there

Because your post mentioned him buying a big house in london ontario and then immediately after said no do not want.

I am sure every one thought the same thing. But nobody actually replied back to you outside of him. Its pretty much what i thought also when i read the post.

I'd take Corey Perry on a one year deal. Because I think he'd come cheap and would come just pissed off enough to be effective. He's falling apart though so let him put up some decent numbers banging home rebounds from Burns and EK, fueled by frustration of being bought out, and then him cash in from another dumbf*** team thinking he's found his game again as his body disintegrates into dust.

I was just playing around on CapFriendly and I found out that Francis Perron, Kyle Wood, Rourke Chartier and Jonathan Martin would all require waivers to be sent down next season. I still don't think Chartier should continue playing hockey with all the concussions, but Perron is interesting. I wouldn't want to lose him on waivers for nothing. Martin and Wood I think would both clear since Martin is a 4th liner max, and Wood is a slow footed bottom pairing dman. Of course this is predicated on all 3 of those guys being re-signed.

I agree about Chartier.

The other 3 are interesting. They are all projects at this time and can be claimed by teams purely to f*** with us. I am not sure if either of those 3 actually make the NHL this year but I think Martin is the guy who has the best chance of getting a shot in 19-20. This is just based on my perception of how Sommer viewed him at the end of the Cuda season.

Kind of off-topic from your post but the 1 Cuda player I will be shocked to not see any NHL games this year would be Chekhovich. From a D perspective, I expect DeSimone but I would not be surprised/disappointed if he does not make it.

Corey Perry is the one player I wouldn't take on our roster even if it guaranteed us a cup. I get physically angry whenever I have to watch that guy play "hockey", I don't want to have to do it for every Sharks game. Thankfully, he nowhere near guarantees us a cup, so I don't have to worry about that opinion biting me in the ass.

I hate Corey Perry with every fiber of my being. He's not even the good kind of villain (you love to hate), I just hate him and wish him all the bad luck life can dole out.

Jon Martin could be the 4th line grinder we've been looking for.

Karlsson going to Ottawa and Ottawa claiming Perron off of waivers confirmed.

I’ll pick up Perry at the airport if it guarantees us the cup. Sharks logic would be finally getting over the hump with a player hated by the fan base for over a decade

After failing for decades with players like Marleau , Jumbo, and Pavs.

Torres was still an effective hockey player when he came to the Sharks.
We don't know what salary or role Perry would have. If he was given 3rd or even 4th line minutes I would expect him to be effective in that role. He seems terrible now because of deployment and salary.

To be clear, I'm not saying they should go after him but if he ended up in SJ I think there is a role for him.

Is his skating Pavs level slow? Slower? That could be the main thing that would worry me.

Even if it were, he is big enough to be a physical player and he can score goals if he's not a top line player. I think he was likely overmatched on a nightly basis. Like I said, as a 3rd or 4th liner I think he would be a goodish decent player. Better than Sorenson but anything above that is a big no from me unless he suddenly finds the fountain of youth. Previous year he had 49 points in 71 games. I wonder if he has an off season surgery to help get him going again.

Well no player ever does that so that isn’t a point in favor of bringing him or anyone in.

Funny thing... Kane had 33 PIMs more than Perry's worst (best?) season. I'm sure there is a logical reason for that though...:help:

You'd know this team would be getting desperate if they signed Corey f***ing Perry, my own personal beliefs aside.

To me, it would basically be DW losing his goddamn mind.
