DW follows all in years with transition years. The team will get younger. I expect pavelski to be let go, EK to stay. Gambrell, true, and Middleton will get a chance. Braun will be traded for a first. Sharks will still be competitive especially with a healthy EK.

Yeah. Getting EK65 to re-sign would pretty much let the chips fall into place with DW's vision. My ideal scenario going forward this year is we re-sign EK65 and Nyquist.

Nyquist basically fills in our top-6.

Meier-Hertl-Nyquist
Kane-Couture-Labanc

You ill in the rest of the remaining forward spots with the Cuda prospects and hope that someone takes a big step(s).

With Vlasic, Burns and EK65 we have probably the best top-3 D in the league. We should move away from both Dillon and Braun simply to create more cap space and fill in those spots from within. The idea again is that hoping one of the Cuda guys can be a good fit in there.

Montreal might be his best bet. Predators may have to trade PK to keep under cap. Sharks might be pressured if EK65 is re-signed (and Pavelski), and RFA Meier gets large contract.

His knees are shot. Would the locker room even welcome Corey? At league minimum I’d take him on the fourth line

If he gets bought out, I would be ok taking a chance with him at 1-2M. But no way do I want anything to do with that contract. Not even at 50% retention.

That being said, an agitator like that is what we can use on the bottom-6. I am not confident though that he is good even for 30 points in a season.

If we’re paying him 1MM a year to be on the fourth line and use his shot on the PP...I’m game. Wouldn’t touch him unless he gets bought out though like you said

I'm still thinking about this Pavs situation. DW set a good precedent with Marleau. If you want a chance to win, take a discount, otherwise the Org has no problem letting you walk. I hope they engage in similar negotiating tactics with Pavs.

Would a teal jersey even stay on Perry, or would it engulf in flames as soon as it touched his skin?

I’m down for Perry, just as long as Haley is gone. Perry is a much more effective pest than Haley, and the fisticuffs are not necessary, plus he might be able to like score a few points at least.

Does slow us down a fair bit though, which I know is taboo in the NHL these days.
