Ugggh goaltending situation sucks with all these back to backs. I’d go Lyon against Pitt and Elliot against the avs.

Disappointing no news on Patrick. I was hoping he’d be back at practice after the break.

Oof, I feel like Lyon would get lit up like Times Square against the high-offense Pens.

And they are apparently looking at adding Vatanen and Palmieri.

I'd think that Elliott can definitely handle this B2B after like 10 days off if they feel that gives them a better chance to win.

Lyon started playing for the Phantoms in 2016.

If by this point he can’t play a sliver of games in the NHL and provide a competent/average performance, I don’t know what kind of development is going on down there - and why the hell they are wasting their time with him.

Elliot Pens. Lyon Avs.
You have to go Elliot against the pens. It’s the more important two points. Same division in a playoff race.

He is better than Bunny. Playing the better player is the smarter move every time.

Nobody has argued he is the number 1 center. When you have to lie about what others are saying, it indicates your position is crap and doesn't stand on its own.

What? Lie? It was highly vocalised the best spot for him is between G and TK

And what's this nonsense about him being better than Bunny? It was also highly criticized that the coach is STuPiD for dropping him to the 3rd line w s*** linemates.

hE ShOuLd Be tHe #1 CeNtER. ThIS oRGaNiZaTiON iS sO StuPiD
All you did was make yourself look dense.

JVR G TK
Farabee Couts Jake
Laught Hayes NAK
Raffl Bunny Pits

Provy Nisky
Sanheim Braun
Ghost Myers

Moose

This what we looking at tomm ?
Some nice icing 5 forwards that should be on the 4th line/scratched/demoted.

The issue going forward this year, is that Laughton, NAK, Raffl and Pitlicker should all be on the 4th line(Bunny in AHL) but Mgt/AV wants/thinks they all deserve to play. And they do...all have done pretty much as expected(except for Pitlick starting slow due to injury). But all should be on the 4th line ideally. You can add Frost at some point for 1 of them....but there is no guarantee Patrick is coming back.

It seems like they will keep G at C for now since it worked for a few games and hope the team keeps winning. We have just over 3 weeks until the deadline and Fletch has made it clear he wants to add a C. We just have to pray he makes a good deal when he does do it.

Strawmen are so much fun.

I’d play Elliott against the Pens & would even consider playing him on the back to back against the Avs too depending how the first one goes. As Lyon stinks. ****ty situation either way really.

I'm going to the game Saturday, so give me Lyon in net. I want to watch Mack in all his glory.

Dropping Frost to 3c was stupid b/c linemates.

Now it's stupid not calling him up over Bunny for the 4c spot. Using the argument but he's better

It's obvious some people will move whatever goalposts to bash every decision this team makes

You're doing this weird thing where you pretend that a mass of people are all one single entity while ascribing a wide array of statements from different posters to that entity and thus to everyone who composes it as well.

It's weird.

Let's try some common sense since you seem to be lacking with you today.

Giroux Frost Konecny.....do you think that "makes" Frost our #1C? Or does common sense kick in say that Couts is our #1C regardless what mix of top 6 wingers he has?

If you were being HONEST with what people have been saying, it's that we want Frost to play with TALENTED players so that it helps match his skills AND it keeps Giroux and Couts on different lines. An by being on different lines, it means we are harder to play against. AND it means Hayes is on another line so hopefully we are icing 3 lines that can produce. And guess what, if you have 3 lines that can produce, then no line has all the pressure every game. Having Frost play with G and TK allows you to "spread" the talent.

G Frost TK-gets offensive minutes, is a scoring line, G can help with FO
Farabee Couts Jake-another scoring line...but a 2 way line too
JVR Hayes NAK-Hayes gets to play with 2 guys who don't need the puck on their stick
Laughton Raffl Pitlick-that should be a good 4th line that is solid defensively but can also chip in goals.

So again....just so you can not spread incorrect info, having Frost play with G and TK does NOT mean anyone thinks he is the #1C. It means he will get/should get 3rd line minutes overall as he would be our 3rd best C.

Understand now?

It really is just this simple.

Franchise players should be able to play without talented players.

Way the team is set up I don’t really buy the whole first, second, and third line thing anyway. Flyers are a team that has to win by committee if they want sustained success. Whichever line is playing the best a certain night should get the most minutes.

It’s likely that Couturier and his crew will always get the most and that’s fine. Beyond that, play whoever is performing the best.
