True. Needs to be retired.
Yes make the retirement of a number a special honor. There is the Flyers Hall of Fame for those great players who don't make the standards for number retirement.Sans Ashbee I’m 100% in favor of the Flyers high standard for retiring numbers. HHoFer who played a large part of their career with the team.
Clarke, Parent, Barber, Howe, & Lindros.
They retired Lindros' number without a cup and Giroux has had a better overall career here than him.Does Giroux get #28 retired?
I say yes, reality says no. Unless he wins a Cup
Again, I say yes. They retired Lindros' number without a cup and Giroux has had a better overall career here than him.
Well I certainly won't argue with any doubts in this organizations/fanbases ability to recognize the quality of players.Again, I say yes.
Reality says plenty of Flyers fans don't even realize how good he is, therefore no
I can see Clode being the world's biggest snub, since he's snubbed out of almost everything and has flown criminally under the radar for 10+ years nowGiroux should get in the Hall... and if so he will have #28 retired.

It’s really awful that the PP nonsense the past two seasons is going to make it look like he declined earlier than he really did to anyone lazily judging by raw point totals. If he does not get in he will be the player not in with the best prime... that is for sure.
Giroux’s number should only get retired if he makes the HoF. I like the fact that the Flyers only retire numbers of hall of fame players with Ashbee as the lone exception. I love Giroux, and I think he should immediately, upon retirement, be placed in the Flyers hall of fame, but he has yet to earn his number being raised to the rafters.Does Giroux get #28 retired?

He should still be p/pg+ this year and yet...
Not to mention the insane bad luck at 5v5. I’m still absolutely amazed that he only has 2 first assists. Such an unbelievable fluke for someone as smart and skilled as him, who has continually created chances all year.
Are you blaming again?
If he hasn't earned it yet, he will never earn it because his best days are clearly behind him.
