Good thing I'm more of a Medieval dragon guy than an Oriental dragon guy.

But these unnecessary problems, like the lack of center depth forcing Giroux to play C, is because they refuse to call up Frost and keep playing guys like Raffl, Laughton, Bunnaman, or Vorobyev at C instead. I don't care that Rubtsov is up, but Frost needs to be up too.

I'd rather go with this until Raffl is back...
Giroux-Frost-TK
JVR-Couturier-Voracek
Laughton-Hayes-Farabee
NAK-Rubtsov-Pitlick

If Rubtsov at 4C becomes an issue then shuffle the bottom 6 around and have Laughton at 4C.
I would prefer jvr Hayes nak. Farabee with coots on the left. And Laughton on the forth line.

I'm not a fan of NAK in the top 9. I think Laughton is a better fit there, even though he would ideally be on the 4th line too.
I thought that line was a good fit. Nak is a grinder. And did well with those two. I don’t think he is the better player just better fits as far as skills. Either way farabee with coots I think would be fun. Both really smart. Just think it would be fun once their learn each other.

Because it's about seeing the whole picture and you don't see it.

Playing with G and TK gives him talented players to play with....but he can also defer to them and focus on being solid defensively too.

And our 1st line...is whatever line Couts is on. He is our #1C.

And Hayes should be the #3C playing with wingers who don't need the puck because he is a puck hog.

PLACING someone on a certain line does not mean you think he IS that guy. It's about mix, not wanting Hayes with Giroux, and having Giroux and Couts on different lines so we have 2 lines for teams to worry about offensively...and as a result, gain a 3rd line too with Hayes and Farabee able to produce(and usually Laughton but he has looked awful since injury)

It's about balance.

Oh i see it. Just not thru your lens.

What i saw was Frost looked good for a game and a half. Then he struggled for 16 games.
He was highly ineffective on the pp and had isues with tight checking.

What's that saying? The NHL isn't a development league. However, around here it is i guess.

I was also blasted for suggesting G could play center again and was told that should never happen, so who knows.

G can still play center. But I worry about him with tk and jvr. Feel like that line will score then go cold and get caved in on in shots against

These decisions arent even worth being upset about anymore. Theyve demonstrated an inability to both a) staff the team in an attempt to win now and b) keep an eye to the future by exposing the future core to controlled NHL games. Stuck right in the middle with playing fringe nhlers over better/more impactful options in either regard.

Comfortably mediocre is the flyers mantra.

I don’t see how they can fit Rubtsov under the cap unless someone goes back down or someone goes on LTIR

Just spit balling here but I wonder if the Flyers and Wild would be interested in a swap of young defenseman. Maybe not during the season but in the off season.

Ghost for Dumba trade.

maybe the Flyers try to find a way to get Kirill Kaprisov in the deal? Just a thought. And of course the Fletcher connection.

Doubt you could get Dumba for Ghost straight up let alone what you’d have to add to get Kaprizov.

He is having a rough year though.

He didn't struggle for 16 games. He just didn't "wow".

His last 9 games he had 4 points is a 3rd line role. Not sure why people have such an issue with our 3rd best C, being on a 30+ point pace.

100% agreed his PP production was a disappointment.

If Nick Suzuki is developed enough to be in the NHL, so is Frost.

As for Giroux....the NUMBERS based on over a years worth of info said that. And for 1 game, those numbers were wrong. Personally I hope he IS great wherever he plays. But the numbers say he is much better on the wing. A larger sample size this year is needed to determine anything.

Or keep Ghost and just use him right.

For the personnel they currently have, they are using him right.

He's behind Provorov and Sanheim on the left, and we've seen that the coaching staff is not keen on moving away from the L/R alignment unless they really have to.
