They just refuse to make the smart moves, don’t they?

Just like with the PP, they'd rather make mistake after mistake instead of going with the common sense best option.

The way the Giroux line has clicked the last game and produced, one can justify replacing a winger with a winger.
Unless we want Frost to center the 4th line and Bunny going to wing.

Personally, I just try to see the reasoning behind it. I'm not high at Rubtsov at all.

But these unnecessary problems, like the lack of center depth forcing Giroux to play C, is because they refuse to call up Frost and keep playing guys like Raffl, Laughton, Bunnaman, or Vorobyev at C instead. I don't care that Rubtsov is up, but Frost needs to be up too.

I'd rather go with this until Raffl is back...
Giroux-Frost-TK
JVR-Couturier-Voracek
Laughton-Hayes-Farabee
NAK-Rubtsov-Pitlick

If Rubtsov at 4C becomes an issue then shuffle the bottom 6 around and have Laughton at 4C.

Frost was on a 30 point pace and some people think he should be the 1st line center of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Yikes

So we made it to page two before the argument is going to start?

Did they send Bunnaman back ? I actually thought he had good hustle and pitched in with a few fortuitous points. Ugly but they still count.

I'd bet that Frost will be up permanently after both all-star breaks... unless the G/C/Hayes center lineup works way better than expected.

Also, how is Hayes -15? A lot of those minuses must be PPGA.

I thought Carter could have been a target this past offseason before they signed Hayes.

Carter - 50 GP, 23P, -17

Hayes - 49 GP, 27P, -15

PPGA isn't a Minus... :(

Because it's about seeing the whole picture and you don't see it.

Playing with G and TK gives him talented players to play with....but he can also defer to them and focus on being solid defensively too.

And our 1st line...is whatever line Couts is on. He is our #1C.

And Hayes should be the #3C playing with wingers who don't need the puck because he is a puck hog.

PLACING someone on a certain line does not mean you think he IS that guy. It's about mix, not wanting Hayes with Giroux, and having Giroux and Couts on different lines so we have 2 lines for teams to worry about offensively...and as a result, gain a 3rd line too with Hayes and Farabee able to produce(and usually Laughton but he has looked awful since injury)

It's about balance.

Guess they'll move Farabee up and put Rubtsov at 4LW.
So it's really Farabee v Frost in the top 9. They went with the smarter, more physical undersized rookie.
The difference is that Farabee can play on the 4th line, for Frost it's top 9 or LHV.

Exactly. It's a good fit, a good mix, and was successful in the past until TK got hurt, at which point it was broken up and never tried again.

Giroux and TK get someone with skill, speed, smarts, and will get them the puck. Meanwhile Frost gets to play with two super skilled guys who can actually help him out so he doesn't need to do too much to be successful. Far better than tossing him down in the bottom 6, with scrap time and poor linemates, and expecting him to produce.

Without Lindblom and Patrick, this seems to be our best option.
