Spit take!Yeah but Loktionov got uncomfortable when he stiffarmed that Oiler and it dislocated his torso.
They spent a good 20-30 minutes running down the Top 15 prospects.I listened and they never talked about player personel with the player personel guy. Uggh. I don't care about old stories about Rob Blake eating Doritos in Colorado.

If we're being honest with ourselves, it might be more important that they have an AHL season than anything else.
Ok. I quit after 20 minutes of them waxing eachothers backs. I'll continue. They spent a good 20-30 minutes running down the Top 15 prospects.
Yeah they actually spent a decent amount of time on prospects, and Nelson sounds excited about Fagemo.
But I guess Nelson Emerson being heralded as someone who’s great at his job will be frowned upon by those who still hold a grudge over something that transpired 20 years ago...

Emerson was the one who said Iafallo would make the team before any of us knew his name, right?
Something, something about the Blakes and Emersons swinging...I don't remember.Ooh. Sounds juicy. What did he do ?
...a couple years ago Vollman ranked the top NCAA coaches ready to make the leap to the NHL. Presumably, he is now busy conducting a similar exercise for the Kings’ search for a new AHL coach in Ontario.
That he did, and he did it again with Blake Lizotte before this season started.

Some interesting info in this article:
Lot of information on using analytics for scouting/drafting with quotes from Yannetti.
Where'd he say this? Would love to see it. Not doubting, just curious because that's awesome if so.
When the Kings held a fan forum in August at the Microsoft Theater, a panel of the hockey operations department discussed the new era of Kings hockey. Asked for one name to remember among their prospects, director of player development Nelson Emerson gave one that few knew.
“Alex Iafallo,” Emerson said. “This kid gives us another swing.”

Just like Luff the previous year and Alex Iafallo the year prior, Blake Lizotte is a non-drafted free agent who is drawing some interesting attention in advance of training camp, which opens Friday. He was referenced by Nelson Emerson at the State of the Franchise forum two Fridays ago as a player to keep an eye on this camp, and his performance in the three rookie games justified that belief.
Here's the Lizotte mention from the State of the Franchise at the end of August before rookie camp late last summer.

Ok... FINE. I'll give him a chance.Seriously, I used to be highly skeptical of Luc and Blake leading this franchise. But if you're lucky enough to attend a season ticket holder presentation, you'll see that these guys have a wealth of information available to them and have a solid plan. I was able to tag along on one and they won me over in 90 minutes. There was an incredible amount of candor and awareness in how bad the team is/was and what was lacking. They went over each shortcoming and addressed how it would be remedied. I left impressed. Every single detail of trades (when to pull the trigger), draft choice values, the prospect pipeline, when players are expected to be NHL ready etc., is calculated to the nth degree. You may not agree with their hiring practices or other decision making processes, but they're not just winging it. At the very least it convinced me to give them a shot and not be so negative.
