^ Do hope yet also believe if we drop to 5 Raymond is our guy. Wouldn't be upset with Rossi yet given how we are trying to build speed and skill shocked if they have Rossi above Raymond. Rossi is the safer bet while Raymond has the higher ceiling. Prefer to take the home run pick. Raymond's advanced numbers are amazing too and had he gotten more playing time imho the #2 pick. Talent wise he is top 3 in the draft.

Just so so awesome if this news is right. Huge for our rebuild. Most interesting thing will be if DET stays at #1 does OTT go two forwards or F and D.

Drysdale. But since OTT is likely to pick 2/3 (or 1/3) under the proposed format, they could go FWD and Drysdale, leaving Byfield or Stutzle. Now, should they end up 5th, Lucas Raymond is probably the choice.

Again, this is all hypothetical, but we'll know early this week.

Raymond would be freakin awesome him and Holtz are my two favs after Laf.

Does anyone have any idea who might drop to our 2nd round pick?

It seems like everyone is happy with who will get in the 1st, but I'm hoping we can snag another Kaliyev or Fagemo in the early 30s.

Given all of the extra picks they have between 35 and 110 (7 total), I wouldn't be surprised to see them package picks to go up and get a player in the late stages of the 1st round.

It's just nice that no matter what pretty much any one of those guys is awesome. Whether we land at 4 or 5 is almost irrelevant. And I also think this first round draft order is gonna be a bit surprising after Laf, basically 2-8 are in dispute!

Only difference if 4 or 5 imho is Drysdale. If we drop to 5 means someone moved up and OTT has 3 and 4 where I can't see them not grabbing him with QB or TS whoever doesn't go at #2.

I so badly want the star forward. That said I go back and think if I could pick Stamkos or Doughty I'd go the latter. Elite D are just worth so much.

I think there's much more uncertainty that Drysdale becomes a 1D than Doughty before his draft. Plus, according to Wheeler/Pronman at The Athletic, the 2021 pool is deep with defensemen the way this draft is deep with forwards. The former lists 5 defensemen among 10 contenders for Top 5 spots in 2021, whereas Drysdale is the only defenseman ranked in the top 10 in 2020 by most analysts I've seen (with Sanderson coming on strong for some of them).

Ok and which one of the forwards is close to yet alone a certainty to be Stamkos? Not sure what how many D are available this yr compared to next remotely has to do with BPA or this draft. We have no clue what happens next year and can guarantee you Blake isn't thinking I need to go a F as I can go D next year! Everyone wanted Byram last yr and Drysdale is considered better. I have him #3 after QB yet would not remotely be upset if we were #2 and took him there. He is that good and the universal combined rankings #2/3 guy.

Is that true? Didn't all non-playoff teams have a chance that year.

Edit: rewriting as I realized where I misunderstood.

You are correct. All non-playoff teams prior to 2015 would enter a lottery to move up 4 spots.

If they go back to pre-2015, the Kings would pick 1st (if they win the lottery), 4th (if a team 1-3 or 9+ won the lottery), or 5th (if a team 5th-8th won the lottery).

I got the year wrong, but yes that's what I meant.
