The biggest highlight from the 2007-08 season. The Kings scored five goals in 5 minutes, and 7 seconds, a new club record.

Now they are lucky if they score five goals in 5 games.

Was at that game. My friend and I got so bored and frustrated we walked around Staples looking for a vendor that sold Jagermeister. The only one that did was the season ticket holder lounge or whatever it is. We had to sweet talk (or drunkenly beg) our way in to get some Jager shots. Made it out and got back to our seats just in time to see the comeback. Good times

@BigKing

How do you know trading Iafallo would be stupid when we don't know the potential offer? I don't think anyone is suggesting trading him for a bag of pucks. I think he is our most attractive trade piece given his age, contract and production. If he brought back a very good return should Blake turn it down?

You and @YP44 make an interesting point about a hockey trade tho. I hadn't thought about that. Was thinking more picks/prospects. I really like the Ghost suggestion.

I think he's basing it more on what some around here want to trade him for.

There were people before the season suggesting he wouldn't even make another NHL team.

Just found out that the outdoor game is this weekend. We are going to be so badly outplayed. Hope the chrome helmets distract the Avalanche so we don't look completely foolish.

THe 'blinded by the light' distraction....so that's what Luc and Blake were working on, why Toffoli and AMart aren't moved yet.
i think they are waiting for the highest bidder, the most desperate teams to fold. Just hoping those two stay healthy until then.

Exactly, judging by the snippets i've read from columnists.. Blake seems to be asking for a 1st for each of Marty and Tyler considering the injuries that have occurred and the price paid for Zucker, it seems to be the right move to hold right up to the TDL... Will we get that, not likely but you always aimed high and work down..

I will be in Toronto (for the first time ever) Feb 18-25 and see what it's like to be in a hockey mecca center. I will have no problem finding what's going on, trade deadline day.

Where you going to? I'm about 60 minutes north of Toronto, and I believe kovacro, is 60 minutes south, in Hamilton.

I just don't know what he would bring. Nobody is giving up a 1st for him. A 2nd or a prospect that we don't is as good as Iafallo? I guess I'd take a comparable defenseman in the same age/contract range but who is that and does that trade exist?

Iafallo is a one in the hand is worth two in the bush asset at this point. Everyone is for sale at the right price, of course, but I just don't know what the hockey trade is that is out there for him. YP throws out Ghost with the Kings having to add. If there was something where Iafallo and a prospect gets you a good player, under contract and in an age range that the Kings are lacking then okay but those kind of trades aren't really deadline type deals: you generally have buyers and sellers but not a combination of both.

Ghost + 2nd/3rd could probably be had for Toffoli if they covet him that much or Carter at 50% retention.
Iafallo + Brown I could see being of interest to Buffalo if it came to that... they have Risto, Montour, Samuelsson, Johnson.. a 2 for 1 where we get a single asset for the sake of "dumping" a contract

Teams may be taking notice of how well Campbell is playing after his trade. They might want to get in on it before it's too late.

Nah if I had to guess it'll be for someone like Stephens or Verhaeghe or Joseph.

That's fair. Those 3 guys are 23 or 24 years old. I hope the Kings can aim a little higher though. Or maybe they can be part of a deal, aka a 2nd rounder plus one of them.

Tampa Bay May have enough Deadline Cap Space, but after this season they are going to be really squeezed for cap room to sign Anthony Cirelli even if he accepts a bridge deal. And that’s without Martinez $4M contract for next season. They will likely ask the Kings to retain salary for next season and if they do the Kings should demand Vancouver’s 1st round pick. Also, I doubt that TBL would be willing to offer any players on their current NHL roster because they want to win now. So they’d probably offer Volkov as the prospect to meet Blake’s demands. Volkov is on an expiring ELC so he won’t be waiver exempt next season.

LeBrun menioned today that the Canes are looking to move one of their 1sts for a top d who has term left on his contract. They are pursuing DUmba, who is signed thru 2023, but Martinez and Brodin were also mentioned.

Apparently, they had been in talks earlier this year with the Hawks for Lehner, but then the Hawks got hot and close, but now are falling back out of a spot. So there is a chance they may want a goalie as well.

Grundstrom sent back to the Reign this morning, Doty signed to an AHL SPC coming off a PTO, Bergh sent to the ECHL.

Translation: Lewis is going to play until he's a King no more, Reign trying to make the playoffs.

Those 1sts in discussion belonging to Carolina and Tampa are currently 30th, 21st, 20th, and 19th. Even with retention I don't think Martinez is appealing enough to get higher than Tampa’s pick at 30. And I don’t know what Tampa’s plan is going forward, they may feel set at D between Foote’s development and the usual bargain bin signings they manage. So maybe no fit there. Carolina seems in more need, but would they risk a 20ish overall pick on two playoff runs worth of Alec Martinez?

Tampa has two firsts. Just saying

Given McDonagh and Rutta are both out, and with the Bolts coming on strong of late, it might be in their best interest to trade for an AMart type. Although, what they lacked in the playoffs, historically, is grit and sandpaper, something Clifford could have added. But AMart has won 2 Cups and been in those playoffs situations, OT, game 7's etc, that you can't put a price on.

After a very sl0w start, they have been impressive
-6th in the Atlantic first week in December, now 1 pt out of top spot in the East.
-22-5-2 since then.
- Vasilevsky has not lost in regulation since Dec 14, which is impressive.

But despite their talent, I still think they are lacking that X factor guy, who knows how to win, and has that it factor.
