Kovalchuk. No comment needed. Terrible move. Stuck with the cap hit now and I’m sure ownership isn’t happy they shelled out 4 million a few weeks back for nothing.

Did you not watch him play in LA the last few seasons? He sucked, had nothing to give this team [and the pens too], so much so he was traded TWICE in one season. I'm glad he found his game in van, but he was done in LA and everyone knew it.
 
Kubalik is currently on pace for 29 goals. When was the last time a Kings rookie scored that much?

Of course it's not Blake's fault, you can't make someone sign here who doesn't want to, but let's not pretend like he's no better than Alex Iafallo.
 
Quick, everyone, let's comb the rosters for more former Kings we can complain about, particularly those we couldn't wait to ship out when they were here. Bonus points if you complain while also whispering "Kings drafting sucks."

Dominik Kubalík has received an offer from the Los Angeles Kings

What else do some of you want from Blake and company? He was offered a contract, he didn’t sign, it’s over. We drafted Kim Nousiainen in the fourth round by trading Kubalik to Chicago for a fifth, and then Nate Thompson and that fifth for a fourth. Is that not enough for a guy that didn’t want to sign?

He has the same amount of points as Iafallo though. Iafallo is every bit the player that Kubalik is.

Tbf lots of people ripped on Lombardi when Moulson, Purcell, and Boyle started producing elsewhere.
Things worked out perfectly fine for us.

My only beef with it is people will complain about the drafting, then complain about the player in the NHL with us, then complain that he's doing better elsewhere when he's traded. It's a total inability to be happy. Wait till Toffoli gets 25 goals on another team.

Now personally my beef is with guys like Emerson and Johnson teaching our high-end guys 'skills' but that's a story for a different time (like we're great at producing NHLers in bulk but I don't trust those guys to build impact players at this point).

Fair enough.
Just pointing out that it's pretty normal for fans to get upset that a former player is having success with another team.
Also that it doesn't necessarily have any impact on our future success.

I’m willing to bet that Philly fans were plenty pissed at Richards and Carter winning two cups with us. Penner, Gaborik, Mitchell, Stoll, Regehr, Scuderi.

We had lots of guys that other teams let go.

how many goals will Iafallo score this year...I'm thinking 10 and are you nuts...take the blinders off and actually watch both players without biass...
 
Alex Iafallo is on pace for 15 goals and 45 points...this will be his third pro season and that would represent a 75% increase in production every year since he's entered the league.

Are we ever going to stop crapping on this guy whose value obviously goes beyond points and is steadily improving in a sea full of guys who are devolving?

How does one person not get that the Kings wanted to and tried to sign a prospect and that prospect rejected the kings

hell I asked the hottest girl in school to prom and she said no. I guess according to that philosophy I should have took the next step and kidnapped her until she gave in

instead of complaining about the one we lost just look at what we are starting to amass in the pipeline.

Remember in the past Chara, Kovy, Brad Richards also said no to us. People do have free will to choose where they can go
