That 2nd line should never be paired together again

I would honestly put Amadio at 2C. He actually has the tools and ability and putting it together now. Why not put him there? He can make plays and shoot the puck as well.
He's kind of sneaky good. May as well try him there. Is he a legit #2 center now? No...but no one else is, either. My hope is Turcotte is one and done and joins the Kings in April.

This roster is just so terrible. Really only one young guy worth a damn (he will be good though), a bunch of guys who wouldn't be on the rosters of 90% of the league and just a collection of veteran players on a drastic decline making relatively big money and years of term still left.

There is just no way they are getting anything for Carter, Kovalchuk, Toffoli or Quick. And really Martinez might be close to joining the decline crew, he isn't getting any younger.

Gonna take a while to adapt to this. Our defense is pretty terrible, but man does everyone push forward.

Way more fun to watch than last year at least. Showing they can hang with the Oilers in an opener (which we suck at) is at least encouraging.

Most importantly: The team gave a shit.

Yup agreed. We knew we were going to be bad, no idea what people are bitching about. It was a fun game.

Kings lost with Smith giving up two empty netters. Not gonna win games with such bad goaltending and defense.

Understandable, but to assume during the end of the first game to say a player isn't going to have a bounce back Season, wow.

Well when a guy plays as bad as some of these guys did last year (or in the case of TT the last wo years) then they stink it up on opening night it's a fair assumption to make.

If we could bet on whether Carter, Kovalchuk or Toffoli are going to have bounce back 2nd line caliber seasons "No" would be the significant favorite.

As expected we all know it's gonna be a long season again ain't even mad. Low expectations. We scored 5 stoked about that. I can't believe I'm gonna say this but aaahhhh when does forbort come back.

* IF* Vilardi can heal his back, how nice would it be to have options in Vilardi and Turcotte down the middle...? :sarcasm:

With Amadio's newly found confidence, I'd like to see him with some creative or finishing scorers centering a 2nd or 3rd line, whatever you want to call it.

This could also push Kempe to a wing hopefully.

Oilers are a bottom 10 team in the league. Kings are a bottom 5 team in the league. Both teams looked like it

We are missing a #1LW, #2C and a Top4 Dman still

They are probably missing 3 top 4 d-man, I like Bjornfoot but asking an 18 year old to make the jump from an U-20 league to a top 4 role in the NHL is alot to ask, and Martinez is right on the fringe, but I think most contenders would view him as a #5 guy at this point.

Forbort is a 5 when he comes back, Hutton is a 6, Roy is an AHL'er, Walker is an AHL'er, MacD is an AHL'er.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the forwards, but the defense is going to be a long and tough rebuild.
