National anthems before an international game.....why?

It's been a tradition in Buffalo since the Knox brothers founded the Sabres franchise that the Canadian and US anthems are both played before every Sabres game, regardless of opponent. No surprise they did it today.

(Honestly, games that they don't play both feel weird to me. )

I agree with the points that the USA having 10 times the population Canada does it's a statistical given that they can produce 23 equally skilled players in any given year.

It's a bullshit argument that would only have any merit if hockey was as popular in Mississippi as it is in Minnesota.
