Yamamoto completely brutal, everything he touches dies instantly.
Poehling looks strong and wants the puck.
Tkachuk looks invisible.
Mittelstadt looks awesome, if this was indoors we’d have a big highlight reel to run.

Hart looks solid, not too many difficult saves though.
No one on Canada really standing out as great or awful.
Dube probably best forward and Clague doing well on D.

Ooh so its only the refs when it's against Canada? Thanks bud.

Not exactly sure what your point is here honestly. You whined about a quick whistle, when the whistle was blown for a crease violation. Do you not understand international rules?

I don't think Oettinger has been bad at all this game, in fact he has made some really nice saves. Other then the first goal he shouldn't be tarred and feathered for the 2nd and 3rd.

I did not see anything out of Woll last night that suggests he would have been any better today.

Yamamoto has been incredibly disappointing, I agree.
I like Tkachuk. I feel he's not having a strong game but he's still mucking it up and he's useful even when he isn't scoring.
Poehling is meh.
Mittelstadt is amazing. So silky smooth. Really like his game.
Hughes looks a little flat footed which surprises me. Could be the outdoor factor though.

Is there actually 40,000 people there?
From my observation, that's accurate. What people don't realize is that New Era Field is actually a pretty big stadium, with seating for over 70,000. There's no way they were going to get that many people for a junior hockey game and the stadium itself doesn't lead itself to great views given the set up of the rink. I imagine that's why some of the seats are sealed off.

USA-Canada already a marquee event on its own. Why gum it up by playing outdoors?

By way of analogy, I love the NHL Winter Classic, but certainly wouldn’t want any outdoors games in the playoffs. Those games are exciting enough on their own.

If anything, outdoor conditions just make the game look slower and clumsier.

What's with hockey players constantly using the word "obviously" in their interviews.
You know, it's just obviously one of those, you know, crutch words and phrases people use when they're, you know, impromptu speaking and don't want to umm, you know, all the time.

Lmao can't handle the fact that USA is getting the ice tilted by refs and still won't win?

There's no argument that the crease violation was a bad call. There's an easy argument that the 5on3 was.

I would like to see a skilled game. Now that junior teams are playing the trap and the conditions make good passing and stick handling impossible the older bigger team playing their system will always win. US goal tending has been mediocre and their D not much better. We are seeing pond hockey at its worst.
I think these conditions have evened out the teams. Canada may have had 2 or 3 more goals in that 2nd period if the conditions werent so crappy.
