I didn't even hear Tolvanen's name in the little bit I caught of the 1st.

CAN D shutting them down?
Eeli did not ply that much in the practice tournaments and his C was out during the pre-games, so the line is probably just searching for chemistry right now. Also somehow he ended up with the puck to make the play during PP.

Apparently the refs told them that the puck was in the net before the net moved. If that's true, that's absolutely horrible.

Under the keepers pad? That's one hell of a guess by the ref.

Why is it always so awful at this tournament?

Swedish tv "Experts" = Swedish homers seeking for chances to rant on finnish kids at something. Its first period in tournament and those Dogs are already barking.

I’ve said that on here before that he isn’t much of a creator and I got bombarded by Finnish fans saying he creates a chance almost every shift. Dont think so.
He's a stealth bomber type of a player, not Nathan MacKinnon Johnny Gadreau type.

I'd like to see the play at centre ice before the Katchouk goal. I thought there might have been a hold or hooking there as he broke for the puck. Happened pretty quickly so I'm not sure.

Finland's captain just said that referee told him after that review that it was a good goal because net was in place when puck crossed the line. :laugh:

As I see it, the problem in that period was hesitation. In all kinds of situations players were second-guessing and passing the responsibility to someone else. Need to be more decisive and try to make something happen instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you. Also can't let adversity such as the bad call have that kind of massive impact on morale.

RULE 98 – SCORING A GOAL/GOAL FRAME OFF
i. If a defending player displaces his own goal frame and the opposing
team scores a goal, the goal will be allowed provided:
1. The opponent was in the act of shooting prior to the goal frame
being displaced;
2. The referee determines the puck would have entered the goal net
had the goal frame been in its normal position.
ii. A goal will be awarded if a goaltender has been removed from the ice
for an extra skater and a teammate displaces the goal frame from its
normal position when an attacking skater is on a breakaway.
iii. The goal frame is considered displaced if:
1. Either of the two goal pegs is not in its respective hole;
2. It has come off one or both pegs;
3. One or both of the goal posts are not flat on the ice.
iv. For all other goal frames which do not utilize pegs, the goal posts
must be flat on the ice and on the goal line at the time the puck enters
the goal net for a goal to be allowed.
v. If the position of the goal net is altered in any way during game
action, play will be stopped if the goal net does not return to its normal
position. If the goal net returns to its normal position, game action
will continue.
vi. No goal will be allowed if the goal frame is displaced before the puck
crosses the plane of the goal line unless provided by Rule 98-i.

I would also like to see Finns answering the physical play. I was a bit afraid of our forwards getting smashed, and so far it looks like that's the case. Wish we had guys like Rantanen and Hintz this year.
