I never compared their offensive abilities. I complimented their completeness as players. Ryan Murray was touted as having great offensive abilities except coaches felt more comfortable playing him in a defensive role because he was extremely reliable. I don't know why people are getting all up in arms for. Ryan Murray went 2nd overall and is still a great player. He hasn't lived up to the hype but the hype he had as a 16/17 year old prior to his draft was very real.
Sounds like you're talking about Strålman here. Dahlins stickhandling, skating and vision is exceptional. His ability to get the puck on goal through traffic or for the deflection is reminiscent of Erik Karlsson. He can throw big bone crushing hits and is very reliable in his own end at a very young age playing against men in one of the best leagues in the world. Again, your take is trash.

Dahlin's a great player but I don't see the big hype. He's not any different than any of the other top players I've seen. He's no where near what McDavid is and the generational talk is just silly. The best and most dominant Swedish d-man that I have seen at 17/18 was Victor Hedman and it's not even particularly close. Dahlin doesn't impress me remotely close to what Hedman did. You can have your opinions though, I can respect that.

Victor Hedman was a manchild. He was physically way ahead of his peers at a very young age. Dahlin isn't.
You clearly have not seen much of Dahlin. I saw McDavid as a 16 and 17 year old play in this tournament and didn't come away very impressed either. In the end, it doesn't matter. Dahlin will dominate in the NHL when the time comes.

As a MODO fan... Hedman has been the only Dman that age in the same tier at SHL level as Dahlin since I started watching SHL/SEL properly in mid-2000's.

But if I were forced to pick at the same age just off SHL play I would maybe go Dahlin. Close though.

Mattias Timander really helped Hedman that year, as good as Hedman was already (though he was also helped by being a freak and more 'man' than most 30 year olds at 17/18). Dahlin has Almquist... who he is already better than.

Explain. He made good simple plays most of the game, had good D zone coverage and was solid on the PP, for the limited time his unit saw.
It wasn't his best performance ever but I think he was far from terrible this game. He showed good puck movement and looks like an asset on the pp. The goal against was on Nylander. Some people feel the need to rip prospects of teams they don't like though regardless of what actually happens on the ice.

Dahlin's the complete package. Right now, he looks NHL ready with a lot of upside so to me, that's very impressive.

It was clear to me that Linus Lindstrom dragged that top line down. I hope the coaching staff replaces him with Andersson so they can be more effective playing even strength

Loading the 1st line makes the 2nd useless.

You can certainly expect more than simple plays from him against a team like Belarus. I thought he was largely unimpressive.

I can respect your opinions too. They're wrong, but I respect them. Dahlin's exceptional at everything he does. His decision making at only 17 is crazy.

Liljegren will be fine. There's probably no more exposed role to have for a young player than as an offensive defenseman. He'll make several high risk plays that will bite him in the ass, but in the long run they will start to pay off more often than they will hurt.
