Tessa and Scott. So hot.

Ice Dance has come a long way. They've greatly loosened the restrictions that made it mostly unwatchable 25 years ago or so. Sort of like when singles figure skating had compulsory figures. Prehistoric stuff.

the koreans caused the canadian to fall so the canadian and chinese were penalised....lol
cant believe the injustice in what happened.

That was absolutely horrendous I don't get it.

None of the skaters in the race had impact. The Korean skater who had just passed on to her teammate fell face first on the ice. The Canadian skater tripped over her and went into the wall also causing the Italian to fall.

Korea/China finish 1-2 and Italy and Canada 3/4 far behind.

Instead of disqualifying South Korea for a skater not in the race causing a skater in the race to fall - nada. Somehow Canada gets disqualified and also China. For the life of me I don't know what China even did i didn't see any contact at any point of the race. This was horrible.

I wonder if an appeal or protest is possible in this sport

I would surely think so. And yes the chinese have been robbed even more then the canadians.
I guess the judges feared for their life...lol

Both Canada and the Chinese were robbed. Is the NHL goaltender interference replay crew doing the replays over there or what? :sarcasm: Has there been an official Olympic statement indicating why both teams were DQ'd because I really want to hear their lies. Was their an earlier incident that could've cause both to be DQ'd? I don't get it.

What the heck was that? How does Canada get DQ'd for that???

That's why that event is garbage. Roller Derby on ice with officials peering out of someone's pocket. It's a spectacle more than a sport.

Alright, did some reading. Looks like Canada was DQ'd for something unrelated to the crash. Just before the crash, seems a Canadian (not sure who) got off track and got into the way of a Chinese skater. And China got disqualified for using 'her hand' at the end of the race, whatever that means...
On the other hand, supposedly a Korean skater who isn't in the race and circling to get tagged in cut into the lanes causing the Canadian who is in the race to slow down and therefore letting the Korean (racing) to pass her...then just a bit after the fall happened.
Course, the falling Korean who took out everyone should have been DQ'd as well...So, unless what I'm reading is incorrect, Korea had two incidence that should have caused their disqualification.

Canada disqualified in women’s short track 3000-metre relay

Canadian skaters and officials weren't sure why they had been punted, because officials in short-track no longer have to explain their rulings to the coaches.

Do they have to explain their rulings to anyone then? I'll just say it. Olympic officials just didn't have the balls to DQ the Koreans a second time in these games causing them to lose yet another speed skating medal.

Short track speed skating is just chaos and anything can happen, especially for a relay. Too small and too crowded.

What they should do on short track is use best times and have split starting lines like pursuit. Only two teams on the ice at a time and split starts with top three times scoring.

I'm watching last night's Japan VS Canada Men's Curling game. Again.

I truly love curling.

The women's team either lives or die today. They win twice and they live, they lose once and they're done.

Koe can solidify the men's team spot in the medal games by winning tonight.

I'll assume Kaillie Humphries made it to the the 3rd round in Bobsleigh and that we got girls in speed skating and women's figure skating.

Agreed. It's literally a derby.

Also, on another note :
"Le président de la Fédération française des sports de glace (FFSG), Didier Gailhaguet, estime effectivement que les patineurs artistiques de son pays Gabriella Papadakis et Guillaume Cizeron ont été désavantagés en raison des notes accordées par une juge canadienne lors de l’épreuve de danse."

He doesn't know how grading works.

Also, I remember 2002.
