Haven't they always done well? I always link them to being cross country skiing giants even though I have no idea if it's actually true.
They have actually won something like a quarter of all olympic cross country skiing medals in history.

They practically invented the Winter Games. Well, not exactly, as it was more a Swedish thing (Nordic Games), but they still were dominant from the get go.

It's Canada that looks like the up-and-coming country over the last 20 years.

I just get the feeling there's gonna be some sort of controversy with the judging for the ice dance tonight. Seems there's always something. Please judges no pity marks for the French girl tonight.

Yeah, they've always done well, but this time they're just flat out dominating, and despite having 28 medals they're still favorites in a couple of events going forward and are still participating in about 30 more events.

In Sochi they had 26 medals for the whole tournament, in vancouver 23, in turin 19, in salt lake 25, etc. You get the idea

Norway gets the majority of their medals from skiing
Germany from luge, skeleton, bobsled
Netherlands from speed skating.

Happy that Virtue and Moir ultimately won but I find it horseshit that their free dance was considered 3 points worse than the French one. Thought it was at least equal. Probably pity points for the incident.

In half an hour, Rachel Homan takes the ice and will try to get Canada in the top 4, in position to get into the medal games.

I didn't care for her unnecessarily removing a burned stone in a previous match. I'm not rooting for her terribly hard at this point.

I appreciate it when the competition is intense and very close. Excellent and well deserved result. 3 Gold today?

The word that came to mind watching them skate was synchronicity.

Awesome.

I thought they had no chance against that french team who had chosen such a superior piece of music. But I guess talent wins out afterall...
