I remember Schneider getting traded for a 9th overall. Let's say Dobson is there at 9, anyone bitting?
For Price? Schneider didn’t come with an albatross contract and wasn’t 31 years old.

Guys, since BPA is the most important thing, and need should never be considered, I thought I'd lay this mock draft down for your approval.
3.) Noah Dobson
35.) Ryan Merkley
38.) Calen Addison
56.) Jacob Bernard-Docker
57.) Filip Johansson
66.) Axel Andersson
97.) Alec Regula
102.) Ty Emberson
I swear to god, if we actually draft Tkachuk with the 3rs overall... Even Bergevin isn't that stupid.

I really, really like the second round this year, but man, there's a huge drop off around the third round. It's not really a gradual dropoff either, it's like dropping off a cliff.
ISS Hockey Releases ISS Top 31 for May, Rankings of the Top Prospects for 2018 NHL Draft - ISS Hockey
The ISS may rankings are out. Martin Kaut all the way up to 13 is a bit ambitious but I really like him so I won't complain too much. Adam Ginning at 17 (whaaaat) I do have issues with though. Marchenko and Berggren are finally in the top 31, probably because of their strong U18.

Damn, can't understand some of these rankings at all...
What? On ISS? Who cares.
Huh, I guess you're right ! I totally missed that, sorry for the re-post.Thanks for that. However, this thread moves so fast that someone already got a jump on it several pages ago:

I'd trade Price for Veleno and I ****ing hate Veleno
Merkley a Drouin 2.0 ?
People want the worldCurious, what do you hate about Veleno. Im really not sure about his ceiling potential. One thing I don’t like is he don’t score much. He has a decent shot I believe. Skating and play making are pretty good.
Huh, I guess you're right ! I totally missed that, sorry for the re-post.
Because if you watch him closely you know his offensive upside just isn’t that high. He has a weak shot and on the PP all he does is circle the entire offensive zone. Why would you give up assets to draft a player in which 2C is his absolute highest upside when you have four 2nd round picks and can select others that have the same outlook?
Hopefully our scouting staff is looking at those guys and are willing to gamble our picks on them, lord knows we have enoughOr better. Guys like Wise, Hillis, Jenkins, Fonstad, Dellandrea, Topping, etc all have realistic top 6 upside as Cs. Id say they all have better offensive upside than Veleno and Hayton.
I finally watched the final U18 game, I know I am super late, didn't had much time. I sort of hated on Wahlstrom a bit for not controlling the play enough earlier in the tournament, barely touching the puck and relying on Hughes instead (I am expecting dominant performance from high end picks in most area of the game). But after having seen him play a few more times, I agree with @WeThreeKings remarks that he is simply smart enough to realize that it is usually the preferable play to pass the puck to Hughes if the option is there considering Hughes ability at creating scoring chances. But if the option isn't there, Wahlstrom been very effective, he is calm and confident in puck possession, he does not force the play, make the right pass when the option is there. All in all, he is not a trick pony à la Ryder, he is smart, knows how to use his teammates and has good puck control ability (decking or shielding the puck coupled with good skating ability). I would like to see a bit more intensity/aggressiveness in his game, but overall I believe his game is pretty polished, he is got high enough IQ to go along his scoring ability to be a offensive force at the NHL level imo.
I have him in front of Zadina, but I am still undecided between him and Boqvist. But I think I will go with Wahlstrom, Whalstrom is the safer pick, even more so with Boqvist recent concussion, and for the reasons I just mentioned I am reasonably confident he can be a 1st line winger in the NHL, I am doubtful he will be elite though, but we will see.
All of that after one viewing?
People want the world
its not enough for us, especially montreal to want and get decent top 6 centers that skate well and playmake for scoring wingers .. as long as they chip in 20+ goals they can be number 1 Centerman
Montreal fans wont be happy until they get a 40 goal scoring 6"2 Center like the oilers and leafs got...as if they just grow on trees... for teams that dont finish 1st overall in the draft
Why people would be PISSED about trading back into the first round and selecting a guy like veleno or kupari 13th or something, i just dont know
i dont personally care where they go with another first round pick, C, W, D, as long as we GET one
