I am the only one on this board who have Noel ranked very highly (around 15). I believe he raised his stock in the WJC18, he showed he isn't just a big body and showed some offensive ability, the combo of speed and size he has can be very deadly, I have been impressed with his ability to carry to puck to the offensive zone (much better than McCarron for example). There a lot of untapped potential to be exploited imo, considering the tools he has I can see him bringing his game to an entirely different level as he develop, his late birthday makes me hopeful it can happen. I guess I am often high on those type of players, size and speed like I just said is a deadly combo, last year is was very high on Vesalainen and Safin and it seems to be panning out well, so I am sticking with projecting highly those type of player.

No, you're not alone. I warmed up to both him and Miller, but dont have him quite as high as you do.

Come on man, he had 6 points in 5 games playin against 17 years old with the body of most of our GF's, it's a u18 tournament it means very little, a lot less than WJC20, if I may.

Simply put, I don't value Centers who aren't a threat to score as potential first line centers. I don't know of one legitimate first line center in the league that doesn't have the ability to beat a goalie from distance. I know of plenty who are reluctant to shoot or are pass first but they still possess an above average to lethal shot.

If you don't have that, I rate you lower and it hasn't failed me yet. 2nd line upside C's aren't going in my top 10. If you're gambling on a C, I would have Hayton higher simply because he can shoot the puck. But Kotkaniemi is the top guy. If Kupari wasn't so dumb I think he would be challenging for the top C in the draft.
Getzlaf. He rarely scores,

Well on top of it he also had pretty good stats in the OHL this season for someone playing mainly 2nd line minutes and being born in August, I don't believe you are giving him the fairest of chance.

I don't know, maybe you're giving him too many chances ? Watched the player a dozen times, he's just not impressive at all and I don't see upside from him, the same way I don't like Hallander that much, but worse.

He had good OHL stats, strong WJC18 tournament, very good raw speed, he is very tall with room to be more physically imposing, very young, I don't see what's not to like. I don't need to give him chances, Noel has many green flags going for him. Let's agree to disagree I guess.

53 points in 62 games and 1 assist in 5 playoff games is not what i would consider good stats for a forward who can dominate CHL players with his size alone.

Seriously, come at me bro. Dude is going to be what Shea Weber would have been if he could skate and make a passing play to save his life.

He's an Pie triangle clone. Big guy, skates well, defends well, can pass the puck, can score but doesn't score a lot. Above average across the board. He's definitely a great pick, but prime Pronger was the best defender in the game and willed flawed teams deep. He doesn't have Weber's clapper in the slightest either.

2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs Weber = Prime Pronger.

Doesn't score alot? He scored more than any other U19 defenceman in the league. He has a good clapper, and moreover, this thing called a wrist shot which he utilises from time to time to scurr de gewls.

Its not the tourney itself, its where both were in their games when entering it. A lot of the simple things I didn't like with Miller like his first pass, his puck carries, his awareness and his agility kept improving. I thought his tourney was more a consequence of what he's done to improve this year.

And personnally, I don't see the fact that he's huge at 17 as a bad thing. Id have agreed if thats what his game was, but it isnt. Its just an advantage he has that gives him more power in everything he does from skating to his shot.

As for Noel, my concern is still that he can bring it in spurts, but Im not sure he has it to do it over a season. I mean, Im not expecting a Wheeler or even a Kreider, but a second line guy who can be a force around the net and off the rush.

Lulz who's ballz are you busting with that one?

I don't think he will score a lot at the NHL level. His shot is good but I haven't seen many of his one time goals from the point that really blew me away. 10-15 probably.
