My list....

Buf- Dahlin
Car- Svechnikov
MTL- Zadina
Ott- Boqvist
Arz- Tkachuk
Det- Hughes
Van- Whalstrom
Chi- Bouchard
NYR- Dobson
EDM- Smith

HABS trade Pacioretty and their own 2nd to Florida for Matheson and FLA's first pick and select either Kotakiemi or Valeno

No chance Arizona takes Tkachuk IMO. They are an analytics focused organization and Tkachuk doesn't have the numbers.

If your first 4 picks are correct, arizona takes Hughes or Wahlstom.

After the U18 J. KOTKANIEMI Best center available?
With Max available Chi Nyr Edm you can find a partern to get him!

But with Bergevin in charge and Molson goal of making the playoffs.... They need to accept the Habs situation and stop living in denial!

Trading Pax for a 1st that would put us in a position to have 2 out of Wahlstrom/Kotkaniemi/Zadina would be a very good 1st step toward a solid rebuild.

Grant is Kotkaniemi focused on twitter

I don't even know why you guys bother to bring him up. I find your material is so much more well-put together and you don't have the advantage of doing this on a full time basis.

Any chance you'd consider ignoring the guy altogether? He adds virtually nothing to the discussion other than turning into a regular source of ridicule.

Depends if you think Wahlstrom is a C or Kotkaniemi is a C.. those two have always been higher than the likes of Veleno and Hayton in most people's minds around here.

I'm not even ridiculing him on this. He definitely knows Timmins. So I think his opinion here is worth mentioning as it may be an indication of Timmins thoughts. No way of knowing for sure but it makes for good discussion about possibilities at least.

You can get a good idea of which players MTL likes from him tho, he usually predicts our picks really well. I doubt we're gonna pick Kotkaniemi at 3 but the fact that he's talking about him this much makes me think were gonna trade for another early'ish pick (~#10-#12ish).

Do you have a link to Tkachuk's advanced stats?

@Runner77 asked for some comparisons between Zadina and Tkachuk in another thread but I searched for advanced stats on Brady but couldn’t find anything.

I mean, my eyeball tests suggest Tkachuk maybe isn’t what Arizona would look for. They are analytics driven, so Wahlstrom and Hughes do make sense for them. That said, their whole analytics mantra hasn’t turned it around yet so maybe it’s time to look at some grit.

Sure, I've posted as much last week. He could be giving hints about what Timmins values however, we're so far away from the draft that his musings may change by then. I would think best time to look him up is right around draft time but maybe I'm wrong.

Hey sandviper, thanks for reverting. I was asking for a similar Mitch Brown graphic as was posted for Svech vs. Zadina. I didn't ask for it to convince me of anything as I'm on board with most posters about Zadina being a no-brainer vs. Tkachuk but only to get the posters in the PGT, to get an additional perspective about how much better Zadina is.

If Svechnikov isn't available at #3 i wouldn't mind trading #3 for #11 + #12 + prospect if we have a good idea of who might be available in those spots, it's a bit risky tho.

If Smith + Kotkaniemi are available at those spots you take that trade all day tho.

Just to be clear, I didn't mean to infer that you were making fun of him right now, only that the man attracts ridicule on account of his exaggerated and unconventional droppings. I don't think I've read any post in this thread that acts as an endorsement of what he may have said.

How do you guarantee those 2 players will be available at those picks...

That's why i said it's risky, that said this draft is deep so there's definitely gonna be 2 good players at 11 and 12. Also teams have a good idea of which players other teams like so they can get a general idea of who might be available.

so who do you pick ? Boqvist or Wahlstrom ?

Boqvist. Elite (potential) defencemen are harder to find than elite wingers. I will be happy with Boqvist, Zadina or Wahlstrom, but I think the ceiling is just so high for Boqvist.

Plus, by the time Boqvist is ready to make an impact, Weber and Petry will be dropping down in the order, if not traded.
