2018 NHL Entry Draft Thread (Less then 24 Hours Edition)

I wish Montreal would do more videos about the draft and the BTS. I thought they would put emphasis on "transparency" yet keep everything secretive. I don't blame them since they might want to hold their cards closed to their chest for the draft.

Tough call, that one. Ginning is a better skater and puck mover, but completely offensively useless. M. Samuelsson is defensively awesome, and offensively quite underrated. He can really rip the puck.
 
I actually think M Samuelsson aint that bad. Sure hes tall and big and slowish but hes smart and hes going to make the NHL. Makes sense to draft him past the mid second, but hell likely go earlier.

I was in a cabin with friends 2 hours up north the day we signed Radulov lol, every once in a while 3-4 guys crowding around a single phone praying to get a Data signal to see what was going on in free agency lmao

I was in a cabin when we signed Alzner. I just got drunk in a hot tub and laughed at how bad that signing was... Oh and I argued with most people here and they thought I was being ridiculous.

It will be a very very interesting couple of days to say the least lol... even if there was a 10000% consensus on 3rd overall, there would STILL be some kind of uproar you just know it .....so imagine NOW when nobody has a f***ing clue who is going 3

i cant wait actually lol because the bottom line is we get a good player anyway LOL, thats whats lost in all this
 
I find this thread very good. I was talking to a friend the other day and told them to check out this site. For someone who is a hockey fan but is not connected to a board like this, they are not informed as much IMO. You can think you know a lot but I think we all learn from each other on these boards in the end. There is lots of very good information on several prospects on our thread.

Just thought I'd send this out to yall! The intellectual knowledge heading into this draft is a sum of all parts. I can bet you the Habs take a peak from time to time to see what's going on. It's not like we are dictating who we will pick but there is some scouting reports on these boards that are good IMO. Make you take a 2nd look at certain guys at times.

Keep up the good work boys and girls! Hope we help the Habs make the right choice one way or another! This draft is important to us!

I am easily the smartest most knowledgable sports guy i know, i get dozens and dozens of questions daily from work and family, like its weird, why am i the expert.. but its flattering..

Its definitely because of this site.........and espn.com lol

And i think everyone one of us is in the exact same boat i am with regards to being the "go to" guy for sports talk and questions lol

So id like to extend my thanks to everyone who has opinions and who works hard on research to crunch numbers and bring tweets to peoples attention that otherwise would go over most peoples heads, we are a connected network of information sharing, and i appreciate it all, yeah you have to filter through a lot of bullshit, but once youre able to do that, you WILL learn a lot of stuff

and honestly, we are smarter than 60% of the people doing this for a living in the NHL, its sad but its true, some people just get lucky lol

They already know and they likely turn a blind eye to it. Not many people are willing to admit fault in this world... especially on record to the media or fans. The critical point is can they learn and adjust if they are staying. This would be my personal message to them ;)

No more Alzner type contracts as UFA's or middle of the pack strategy

My friend said I should be a scout cause I told him about Kotkaniemi the other day and they had no clue about him. I laughed and thought about what some people on these boards though about it. Me as a scout... :sarcasm:.

And I'm not taking credit for noticing Kotkaniemi. I remember looking mid season at the rankings and didn't give him a serious look. I did look at O'Brien though and love his goal scoring ability. Noticed him back in January
