Except two teams picking in the top 8 have taken him to dinner so at the very least he's in the consideration for top 8 by NHL teams. And Montreal also took him to dinner so that means he's a 3-8 ranges prospect right now
He’s up there and I want us to pick him, not at 3 though. Aquire another first and select him

Bouchard is betting on physical attributes. Dobson is skinny as ****
Bouchard is pretty much all but betting on physical attributes, lol. Hes terrible as hell physically and his game revolves around his shot, his ability to walk the blue line, keeping it in and his offensive vision.

Dobson outskates everyone and thats just not something hell be able to do at the next level, at least, not with that consistency. He also has a huge reach and thats another advantage that is somewhat taken away in the NHL.

Well in that case, choosing Jesperi would minimize your worst case regret. If you want to minimize your average regret, we need to talk probabilities. So, how likely do you think it is that Zadina is a 40 goal scorer, and how likely do you think it is that Jesperi is a future 11-20 center?

You study game theory?

I think I misread your original post. Dobson's shot isn't bad either, and his lateral movement is great so he can walk the line fine, he just doesn't often, likes the low, hard wrister more. And not only does he outskate everyone, he out-thinks people too. Takes the most efficient routes to the puck, uses whatever time is given, and rarely makes mistakes. The only mistakes I've seen him make are just bobbling the puck, I don't think his hands can quite keep up with his feet.

I guarantee you he won’t be ranked 3rd.....or top 5

That’s fine since he only talks to scouts of 10 teams, not 30, and ranks them accordingly. So one scout may have him 3rd and another 13th. But if that one scout that ranks him 3rd is from Boston and the other scout that ranks him 13th is from Detroit, I can tell you who I would lean towards.

Hey man, it’s your guessing vs mine lol

Is Quinn Hughes Phil Housley ?

Housley was a brilliant skater with tremendous offensive ability. He was 5'10". More of a big guys game then, but slower.

However, defensively he was not that strong and his skating and skill did not make up for it in the D zone.

I much preferred Chelios to Housley.

I like the impact type of players, but PK kind, who can impact but also play strong defensively. Can be out in any situation.

Dobson doesn't have the offensive wizardry, but he could be an all around guy that produces good points.

Bouchard is not relying on his skating or physical play to dominate. He's brilliant offensively because of exceptionally high IQ, a great shot, and really well developed passing ability. Honestly, if his skating improves (which I think it will as he develops and plays fewer +30min games) he might be end up as the best North American defenceman from this draft. He was essentially London's entire team. When you look at how well Mete has transitioned to the pros and how many great defenceman have come out of London in general, it's hard not to see real promise with Bouchard.

He's not talked about much here, but I'd keep an eye out for him.

Guess I'll drop my top 15 as well, which are about as set in stone as they can get:

1. Dahlin

2. Svechnikov

3. Boqvist
4. Zadina
5. Dobson
6. Kotkaniemi

7. Hughes
8. Wahlstrom (sorry WTK)
9. Bouchard (these three are basically ranked the exact same for me but I had to choose an order)

10. Smith
11. Tkachuk
12. Kravtsov
13. Farabee

14. Hayton
15. Kaut

HMs (aka the next few):
Thomas
Shafigullin
Wise
Berggren
Sandin

How are you gonna acquire another first in the top 10. Cause Chicago and Detroit ain't letting Montreal swoop in if Kotkaniemi is their guy, so your options are Arizona and Ottawa, don't see Ottawa helping a division rival and Chayka is an advanced stats darling who probably doesn't see value where we are coming from.

Should have held on to Tom Gilbert to fleece Chayka.
