I see that all of the questions I put together on the previous page, have died a painful death.

Here's yianik's post where he's indicating that Timmins is moving beyond a BPA approach:

Has anyone else heard this? I frankly can't recall him saying it, I must have missed it.

Yeah it was on television and he was asked about the Habs drafting approach and while I don't recall his exact words he definitely said something about us drafting in " the currency of the NHL " and " that currency was centres and PMDs". He never mentioned the BPA approach at all.

I want the best value pick, not the best player. A top line winger is often a better hockey player than a 2C, but a lot of people would take the 2C over the 1W.

Few are the purely fluid skaters that seem to be gliding, the Rocket's, Coffey, Gartner to name a few, McDavid is a phenomenal skater. Kotkaneimi is above average despite looking awkward, with his work ethic that won't hold him back in the NHL. Watching Dobson playing in the game again, he's going to be a special Dman for the Habs IMHO!!!...:nod::nod: At 6'3" & 180lbs. he's only going to get better, really stands out Hamilton scores 1st. Dobson on the ice smacked in the face with a stick, Hamilton scored. That shouldn't have counted. Imagine Weber tutoring our young defensive crew with Dobson being one of the Big Three again for the Habs.
Cant believe you didnt mention Bure!

And im not referring to Valeri

Shame on you

NHL Central Scouting has moved him(Tkachuk) ahead of Andrei Svechnikov and Filip Zadina, and TSN scout Craig Button has Tkachuk rated No. 2 overall behind Rasmus Dahlin

Canadiens’ prospective draft picks for 2018: Brady Tkachuk, left wing

I listened to Martin Lemay's podcast today on RDS.ca. He had Craig Button on for like 10-15 minutes. Craig Button absolutely said that the number 2 position has been cemented by Svechnikov. That it's Dahlin - Svech. Then the rest is all interchangeable depending on who you like. He never mentioned that Tkachuk was number 2. That's completely false.

Pat Hickey ain't exactly the sharpest researcher eh?

Button had Tkachuk at the No. 2 spot back in January, maybe even into March, but you are correct in pointing this out. Even right after the lottery, could have sworn I heard Button say Svechnikov was the No. 2.

On top of that, NHL's Central Scouting Service has Svechnikov as the top ranked NA skater in their final rankings. Pat Hickey fails at researching, might as well be working for Buzzfeed, the Huffington Post or InfoWars.
