How would you guys rank these, but consider the upside as top 6 C mainly and where's the highest you'd pick them:

Cam Hillis
Kyle Topping
Ty dellandrea
Phillip Kurashev
Jake Wise
David Gustafsson
Jacob Olofsson
Jack McBain
Liam Foudy
Milos Roman
Jay Obrien
Ivan Morozov
Nathan Dunkley
Alexander Khovanov
Luka Burzan
Cole Fonstad
Mathias Laferriere
Semyon Der-Arguchintsev
Blade Jenkins
Riley Stotts
Aiden Dudas
Chase Wouters

Feel free to add anyone you'd want to add, or rank whoever you want to or rank only a few of them.
I'm gonna go ahead and say SDA, Fonstad and Dudas shift/remain at wing.

Fonstad is a weird one, his skill set seems perfect for C, he's a playmaker, he's good defensively, he can make players back up with his skillset... IMO a team should look to maximize every assets potential worth, and what better way than taking a smallish offensive winger and making him a 2way C ?

Blade Jenkins - Not comfortable enough to judge
Riley Stotts - 4th (middle 6 C)
Aiden Dudas - 3rd (winger)
Chase Wouters - 4th (bottom 6 C/middle 6 winger)

I listed their best outcome IMO. For example, Stotts as a "middle 6 C" means at best he has 2nd line upside. But would ideally be on the 3rd.

The move to wing seems to have played a big part in Fonstad's breakout year. Where he not only got more ice but didn't have to worry about the defensive responsibilities that comes with playing C.

He's also very sleight for his height so he'd have to put on considerable weight. It's not impossible but it seems like he can further exploit his skillset on the wing.

Only guy I see making an impact sooner rather than later is Hughes. The 2nd round picks are guys that are likely at least 3 years away. Possibly 5 years if they develop into something.
Ty Smith is certainly a player who might be NHL ready by the 2019-20 season, and very likely by the 2020-21 season.
Other than that, Jared McIsaac, Rasmus Sandin and Alexander Alexeyev are all LHD's that could be NHL ready by the 2020-21 season.

Yes Smith is another guy ranked in the 10-15 range that is a LD that I like too. I’ve watched McIsaac all year and I was disappointed with his development to be honest. Two years ago, there was talk he would be a top 10 pick and Canada’s best defenseman. He does a lot of things well but lacks offensive skills IMO.

In truth, not many defenseman make the NHL before the age of 20. Then they take a year or two to mature. It’s a very hard and important position and even a guy like Beaulieu who has raw skills struggles to put it all together.

But yes, we need probably two LD from this draft

The thing about McIsaac is that he likely doesn't develop offensively, but I'd still expect him to be effective in a #5/#6 role within a couple of years.

Am I the only one who, while happy to have the 3rd overall, is even happier to have those 4 2nd picks ?

Totally. This year should help build the prospect pool up to a respectable level... after giving away so many picks in the past 10 years... that is as long as we keep them.

Having said that I would mind trading a 2nd thing year for a late pick and a 2nd next year or something...

There should be more talk about Filip Hallander on this board.

6'1 center with 0.5 PPG in a pro league (Allsvenskan).
Good speed. Excellent vision. Already an above average playmaker. Not afraid to go in front of the net.

If he's still there in the second round, I would not hesitate...

He's a winger

I think Dellandrea is going to be something special or at least exceed expectations in one way or another. I really hope he is available at 35. 6'1/190 and he's July birthday so very young compared to most and has lots of time to grow and develop. It will be fun comparing his stats with next years draftees considering his late birthday, he very well could have had his D-1 next year. Hope we can somehow pick him up.
