Yeaaah, that team had Georgiev last year and was 29-36-7. Also, reports from those who've been watching the team have positively glowed about their structure and discipline.

I'm not denying that there was likely some miscommunication between Knoblauch and Kravtsov, some of which may be on the coach – and if so, he needs to fix that. But to overlook all the other positive stuff he's done would be wrong and silly. Heck, he even has Andersson going now, it appears.
Georgieov only played 11 games down their last season.

It was more a joke my original post to fire them, but i do strongly believe that is a .500 team still if they had the goalies they had playing there from last season. Offense is still very much of a mess and there is defensive lapses often. Igor basically has to stop a handful odd man rushes each game.

Hope NYR have finally gotten their shit together and gives Kravtsov a mentor like they gave Kakko.

Sure. Maybe I misunderstood his post but he was speaking about preparing next year's camp as if the team had already decided he wouldn't make the NHL club this year. Which would be a terrible approach. But I may have just misinterpreted.
Yeah, the "next year" part I don't agree with, and I think you're interpreting correctly. But I don't think HBNYC meant they should browbeat the kid or anything. Just be firm, establish expectations, establish what happens when you do and do not meet those expectations, etc.

Ugh. This is a catastrophe from Russian perspective.
In the past 20 years, via countless Russian talents, the best Russian forward the AHL had a significant hand in producing was friggin’ Anisimov/Namestnikov. Christ almighty.
Hopefully Kravtsov will be a complete out-lier in this regard.

I certainly hope the front office has a plan for this kid. Give him someone to support him culturally and emotionally, like they did with getting Ruutu to mentor Kakko.

The goal is for this kid to succeed. It's not a time for tough love. Not yet.
Fair. And if we’re seeing this now it’s fair to say the Rangers should have seen it sooner. Not saying to gift a guy NHL minutes. But *maybe* there was a little more they could have done to ease things for VK. Shesterkin and Rykov May have been in the same boat but they’re significantly older and - apparently - more mature. Anyhow can’t see this being grudge-worthy as long as both sides can learn from the experience. Onward and upward.

Every situation is different. Kravtsov is not there to lead the league in scoring--he's there to get used to the North American style of play and learn the things he needs to become a NHL player for the Rangers.

Really all he needs to do is put his head down, listen to the coaching staff and play hard, every single shift. The scoring will come if he does that.

Indeed. I would add though, that I believe that’s more or less where the league is going. Rangers fans complain about the defense, and it hasn’t been good. But I’m hearing fans of most teams saying the same thing.
I agree that the best teams, the true contenders, at the best defense. But even the best teams have a handful of breakdowns each game. The game is changing - one could say evolving - very quickly.

(I appreciate this is not news to most of you. But i just felt it applies here).

All Kravtsov needs to do is string together a dozen good games and give the Rangers any excuse whatsoever to call him up.

Doing so would put him with a good center in the top 9 and let them demote Howden again.

Would solve a lot of problems.

I'm reading g some of the posts that seem to indicate that there may be some animosity with his decision to go back to the KHL.

While they may have been disappointed, that's where it ended.

I have absolutely no doubt it's a clean slate situation for him right now.

Hes still such a huge part of the future.

Hes going to be fine

In think most of us get that but a few like to crank it up to '11'.

Thanks, social media.

To be fair not a lot of top-end Russians end up in the AHL to begin with.

Remember when people were upset about Kravtsov deleting his Rangers related photos from Instagram? Well, as I said before, he did it because he committed to Traktor, the same way he deleted his Traktor posts when he signed with us.

Anyway, he has deleted his newer Traktor posts today, to fully commit to the Rangers. You can agree or disagree with him deleting it but at least we can all agree it wasn't an "anti Rangers" thing
This doesn't prove that though. Not to be a pain in the ass but I can't help but point it out.

He coulda been pissed at the NYR, deleted.

Then he coulda been pissed at traktor and done the same while putting up his NYR stuff again to pretend like he was never mad. Who'd be the wiser?

I always preferred to think the way you're thinking but I'm nagged by doubts especially with how this insane season has gone for him so far

Exactly right. Couldn't have said it better myself.

This kid is going to turn it around, I'm sure but I don't believe he is going to get a call up this season (maybe a game or two if he plays well just as a taste).

The organisation has a good thing going in Hartford and if I were in charge my plan would be to work with Kravtsov in isolation, don't put the spotlight on him just yet and prep him for a good camp next season.

And when he left Traktor the first time? Was he pissed then as well? Because he deleted Traktor photos that time as well.
