Eronko is pretty much the Russian Eklund.

This is not true. Kravtsov has room for improvement in the KHL. I've said it all year. He has not outgrown the KHL, like Tarasenko and Kuznetsov when they came over. Rangers jumped the gun. This organization has 0 patience when it comes to developing their prospects.

Just like they have no patience leaving a lot of their NCAA prospects all 4 years and Buchnevich for a few years and letting CHL prospects play out their eligibility right?

Also, didn't Kravtsov want to come over? The blame game here is unreal.

- Lias Andersson coming over 6 months after he was drafted
- Chris Kreider burning a year off his ELC to play in the post-season
- JT Miller rushed

Personally, I feel there were better paths they could have taken with these players. And this is just off the top of my head.

There was no need to sign Kravtsov this summer.

I don’t see the point in him bailing bsck to the khl when he needs to learn the NA game and the language

Dude needs to just Play well and earn the call up

Eh I don’t disagree

I think Lias was rushed over a bit, I get they wanted him in the AHL but they should have just left him in Frolunda for the year.

You could make the argument letting a Kravtsov stay in the KHL would be good for him.

I would also guarantee if it were up to the Rangers, Miller would have been signed this past summer, when it’s super clear he needs to cook more

I don't understand why he would go back. Work on what the coaches told you to during training camp, and get yourself in a position for a callup at the deadline.

Welp this escalated quickly. Hopefully Krapsov pulls his head out of his ass and stops being an entitled bitch. Chytil and Lias have gone through the runaround of AHL to NHL and there hasn’t been a word about them running back home.

How can you compare Kravtsov coming from the KHL making several times the AHL-salary to Chytil who wasn't even a full-time pro in the Extraliga? Kravtsov and his agent negotiated an assignment clause. The Rangers gave him the assignment clause. It's his right to use it if he wants.

Regarding Lias: He literally played in Sweden after he signed his ELC

He needs to be in a north american rink, he needs to be with our trainers and coaches so he learns the nhl game and builds his body to a north american game. Nigel Dawes is still one of best players in the KHL.....NIGEL freaking DAWES!! People believe the KHL is a good league and it may well be but it's not a good measure of an Nhl player. If you wanna be an NHL'er the best path is through the AHL especially for a guy who has already spent a quite a bit of time in the KHL. We saw this with Buch already, Vigneault's quote at that time told it all when they asked him what was up with Buchnevich, he shrugged his shoulders and said, Russian training. There are going to be exceptions to the rule but in general KHL players need to adjust to the nhl game.

Lol, he should suck It and work his way to the Rangers. He is looking like an entitled brat right now, if this rumors are real, of course.

Chytil played all season in the NHL last season and you didn't see him whine about being sent to the AHL.

IMO its way too early to make that decision...rangers are 3 games into the season, pack are 4 games into the season. kravtsov has played 3 games.

especially when he appears to have played much better in the 2nd weekend, I can't see either side being dumb enough to make a rash panic move on the decision that quickly. I'm not gonna say there is no chance of him going back during the season but I can't see it happening yet.

we should not be surprised that this has come out.

as said before 1000 times, russian kids want NO PART of hartford Ct. period.

riding buses and playing in binghamton ny and hershey pa aint what they are looking to do.

yes, they need to "develop" no question but spending time in hartford can be viewed as a bigtime "step down" from playing in the KHL. right or wrong, thats the reality.

if kravtsov isnt "ready", then it makes sense that his default reaction would be to return home to get more ready.

im not sure i agree with him- in fact i don't, but i see both sides here.

Smartest man in the room syndrome as usual. Hearing great things about Wahlstrom so far from Islanders reporters. The history of "Gordie's Guy" is not exactly great.

They have NA rinks in the KHL

Nigel Dawes wasn't the best player in the KHL when he arrived there. He still developed. He isn't the same player today as he was 10 years ago. Zuccarello performed worse in the KHL than the NHL. Does that make the NHL worse than the KHL?

If you wanna be an NHL'er the best path is through the AHL especially for a guy who has already spent a quite a bit of time in the KHL.

Panarin, Kuznetsov, Tarasenko and others disagree

also if i'm kravtsov and I'm looking at the 'new' 3rd line, I see that as a huge opportunity to say if I step up my game and tear it up next weekend I could be back in ny in a hurry.

I know what you’re doing, but the history of Gordie’s Guy as opposed to the history of Islanders draft picks?

Wow, hopefully a lot of this is just gossip. I remember in the Dark Ages, when our top prospects felt like they would just be gifted a spot (Lundmark, Brendl). The good thing about now is we have so much depth these kids really have to work for a spot. If Kratsov is not ready to put in the work, there is no way the organization is just hand him a spot. Very strange, because during the summer and preseason, it seemed the Rangers were pushing what a great work ethic he has.
