You just want to see him in VancouverIs expansion really that big of a deal in terms of Kravtsov?
Kravtsov
Zibanejad
Buchnevich
Kreider
Panarin
Chytil
Andersson
DeAngelo
Skjei
Hajek
Lundqvist
Our first round picks and other prospects will all be protected, we likely aren't adding any other roster players without subtracting any.
You just want to see him in Vancouver
I’ve got it easy, I just want to see him on my tvAnd I want to see him in Calgary. But that's not happening either
You don't just throw away the opportunity to have a player exempt for the expansion draft

You’re really on the Lias Andersson travel planIf I can't see him in a Rangers jersey this season, I'll have to settle for pre season in September. It will be the first time in my life I travel to North America 6 times in the span of 12 months
You’re really on the Lias Andersson travel plan
Exactly. You can take a player off a team that's overexposed if you have a slot available. You don't just throw away the opportunity to have a player exempt for the expansion draft

Agree w posters above, it makes zero sense to lose an exemption. Nothing to gain from it. Start him in camp next year and see where it goes.
I thought someone said because of his situation if he suits up for any NHL games he loses a year?
Oh I only care about the expansion, get his butt over here so I can go to a game!Yes, if he plays any games in the AHL or NHL under his ELC, it will burn a year of his ELC. His only option to play games is to sign a PTO with Hartford.
For the year to count in terms of the expansion draft, apparently he has to play 11 games in the NHL. So as long as he plays less than that, we won't have to protect him.
The Rangers are continuing to work on bringing Vitali Kravtsov to New York so the 2018 first-rounder can spend time around the team and acclimate himself to NHL surroundings, but it is no sure thing that will happen, according to individuals with knowledge of the situation.
Though Kravtsov’s KHL team, Traktor Chelyabinsk, was eliminated from the playoffs last Monday, the 19-year-old’s contract does not expire until April 30. But even if a release can be arranged, the Rangers won’t sign him to an entry-level deal beginning with this season, for that would automatically burn the first year of a three-year contract.
An ATO (Amateur Try Out) that would allow the ninth-overall selection to play for the AHL Wolf Pack apparently is highly unlikely.
