I don't think this is a good thing the majority of time. Players can get accomodated with losses, I'd rather have him learning to deal with losses than learning how to win.

Show me a good loser and I will show you a loser. I want players that hate losing even more than they like winning. It doesn't matter if he's on a winning team or a losing team. For example, the attitude that Lias has is infectious. I highly doubt he would stand to be on a losing team.

Do you know how you start to hate losing? By losing

I know, but there teams that are not stacked like CSKA and SKA and are also not the dumpster fire that is Traktor this season.

I hear you so then this situation would likely result in playing 12-14 minutes against lesser opponents lines and no special teams. Kravtsov was in such winning environment last year, was counted for bigger role this year and now, essentially is probably being ask even for more. Again I think being exposed to different situations and learning how to respond (or not) is a good thing long term.

In the end, what's more important is that players get a chance to play more than a handful of minutes. Buchnevich with Cherepovets was better than Buchnevich with SKA. Kravtsov is in a situation similar to Tarasenko in 2010-11. I don't see it as an issue

I agree with @Amazing Kreiderman that this is better situation compared to being on a more prominent team, especially like SKA. The prospect would get an opportunity to drive a play, getting to play in top6 and special situations. Example of Rykov who didn’t get any games with SKA while getting over 20 minutes with Sochi, PP and PK included.

This is why, in my original post, I specifically said it seems like guys frequently end up either on a juggernaut either playing very little or not at all (which no one thinks is good) or playing on a shit team (which I don't think is good).

I guess my general issue is the KHL. The top-heaviness of the league, the way in which young players are developed, particularly on the better teams, etc. It's my desire moving forward that if we draft KHL players, we get them the hell out of that league as quickly as possible.

Oh, I get it but I think it’s just how things worked out for the Rangers here and now, and still the unfavorable situations didn’t last long to be detrimental to our prospects.

Kravtsov would easily put up Svechnikov type numbers in the minors (maybe more assists less goals). Like others pointed out, it's almost unheard of for Russian players to light up the KHL in their D+1 season, especially on a crappy team. I'm not comparing him to the likes of Tarasenko or Kuznetsov just yet, but to me barring anything crazy happening he'll probably step into our top 6 as soon as he gets here.

But that comparison can actually be made.

After 22 games in their D+1 season:

Kuznetsov: 5+4 in 22 games
Tarasenko: 5+4 in 22 games
Kravtsov: 3+5 in 22 games

The two comparisons all season long so far had 9 points after 22 games, Kravtsov has 8.

Good to see his luck starting to average out.

His two assists prior to this one were smart subtle plays, but not ones I would call beautiful or individual efforts. For every times he’s been rewarded for one of those he has been screwed on 10 wonderful individual efforts.

Kravtsov is on a new line with Polygalov and Glinkin. Listed as a second line but looks like coach is giving them top minutes. The line is playing with energy. I bet a gif showing Kravtsov with soft hands around the net is coming. If Polygalov read the episode right he'd have an empty net tap in for a goal near the left post.

He has played with Poly quite a lot in recent weeks. Ever since Szczechura went down, Stoa was moved up, putting Kravtsov and Glinkin with Polyganov. It seems to work well for them.

When does the 4 nations tournament start?

From my post on page 8: The tournament will be happening between November 9-11 and a camp before then for a few days. Traktor will not have any games from November 5 until 12. Kravtsov will miss 2-3 games at most including getting a few games to rest from the coaching staff.

This is pretty great.

Never would have thought of that.

Very encouraging. Can’t wait until he comes to NA so I can get to see him play.

This just puts into perspective how bad his team is, and he is still putting up points. 22% of goals, he was involved in.
