The one thing that sticks out is his Neutral zone defense. He is incredible at stepping up and breaking up passes. He breaks up the neutral zone passes so efficiently that it pretty much eliminates one forward as he is now stand still.
He probably had like 6 entry denials alone last night to go along with it.
That ability to know when to step up and develop great Gap control at the blue line is crazy good.
Did you guys read this on the main prospect board?
But that's not a tangible skill and "transitional" defense isn't important.Did you guys read this on the main prospect board?
And hopefully its just the tip of the iceberg in his development. I think we all realized he would be a 2-3 year "project" but he's our most exciting prospect and that's saying a lotHe was a turnover machine at the u18s which is why I was so unimpressed by him. Sounds like he’s cleaned that up big time.
Miller stuff starts are 2:30, both games this weekend are at 730EST Friday and Saturday
I just pictured Miller turning into the next Pronger and started drooling...A lot is made of talent which is great, but because of that, I didn't realize how humongous he is.
He's listed at 6'4" 192 at 18. He may grow more and could very well be built like a Hedman or a Pronger.
Lol I'll take half of that.I just pictured Miller turning into the next Pronger and started drooling...
His wing span is nuts. He’s so good at breaking up zone entries (I think that’s currently the biggest strength to his game) because he can position his body to give a forward a lane that they think they can take around him and then just reach out and knock the puck away from them. I posted an article a few weeks ago from someone who saw one of his games in person and they were saying he can cover half the width of the ice with his reachA lot is made of talent which is great, but because of that, I didn't realize how humongous he is.

I was watching the video package above and he looks like he's playing with mites. His wing span is nuts. In terms of the size and toughness side of it, we may get that, but I think the skill side of it is more than McIlrath was ever going to be, potentially.I wonder if Miller is what the Rangers were hoping for with McIlrath.
Absolutely, he’s not even like, filled out yet and I’ve seen him completely rag doll other college players along the boards. His upside is essentially the ideal kind of hockey player that everyone dreams of: huge, fast, smart, dynamic, etc etc.I was watching the video package above and he looks like he's playing with mites.
Its not just height and weight. It's volume, mass, length. He has it all. He's a big 6'4".
Sort of like Aaron Judge, you know? He's 6'7" but he looks like he's 7'2". There's just arms and legs and man going everywhere.
