Well, the game vs Finland in Pardubice he was hung out to dry by his team. Russia was unable to keep the puck out of their own zone for more than 10 seconds. It was an absolute awful game by the team as a whole.

Yeah again, Russia as a whole sucked. I can't remember exactly but I think they went like 1-5 in those two tournaments I referenced. Just pointing out Shesterkin wasn't necessarily on his game. But honestly, it's f***ing May, and his season started in like August, plus he's had some long layoffs. He's probably worn out at this point.

Czech Republic was on the penalty box for more than hlf of the game, so it's kind of expected.

Prospal got the "Vinny" nickname from his early days in Philly as a rookie, I believe. I remember John Davidson telling the story one time on air. His teammates decided it was easier to say Vinny than Vaclav and the nickname stuck.

Defensive accoutability or the fact that he plays in the Extraliiga with larger ice,maybe? It really pisses me off watching the Czechs games as a Rangers fan.

Euro players fall into hierarchy according to where they play: NHL regulars then Euro top leagues top players then AHLers and only then NA junior league prospects (and only when they are something special). Zadina was one of the last cuts. Not right IMHO but should not be surprising.
