Beagle could end up with a similar number on term and money to that of Gagner's deal, difference is Gagner was 27 meanwhile Beagle is turning 33 in October..

YUCK

Multi year I'm assuming means 3 or 4 which is terrible
I'd rather overpay for 2 years of his services.

2 years, 2.5 per seems about right for Beagle.

Free agency premium makes it 3 years, 3 mil per.

Benning tax makes it 3 years, 3.5 mil per.

YES!

Beagle is the perfect fit,RH centre that can anchor the 4th line, kill penalties effectively, dominant on face-offs, and is a cup winner.
As long as it's no more than 2 years, I am all for it. It allows him and Sutter to be on the PK and let Bo flourish in an offensive role alongside Boeser. We need to move out a body still Gaunce/Gagner because I still would like to add Maroon on a 2 year deal as well for some extra muscle out there.

Logged on to see people complaining about adding Stanley Cup winning veteran depth centermen... not disappointed in the results so far.

This is the perfect shorter-term depth move we need.

Think big picture. Signing Beagle means we can trade Sutter for picks

That would be nice but i don’t think one really affects the other. I fully expect Sutter to see 16-17 mpg next yr.

And that’s fine, he’s a good 3C when not getting Willie usage. Ideally he has another strong yr, gets sick of losing, provides us a list of teams he’s comfortable w and we move at ttd.

*just realizing maybe that’s what u meant. I think it’s highly unlikely we move him in the Summer is all im sayin

As long as it's not more than three years or $3M AAV, I'm ok with this. Even better if it means Sutter will be moved out, but if anything it probably means Sutter will be used in more of a top 6 role next season.

Not surprising. I fully expect something like 3 years, $2.5-2.75M per year. They're going to justify the cap hit by saying he'll make close to what Dorsett made.

Honestly, I wouldn't hate that. One better, I'd actually be OK with 3 years at $2.5 to $2.75m. But my sinking feeling is we'll be looking at 4-5 years at $3-$4m per year.

Oh I agree. I like Sutter but I think a Beagle signing means Sutter would be gone at the TDL. Canucks are desperate for extra picks for the home town draft.

Beagle is just an awful signing.

Did anyone actually look at this roster and think 'wow, what we really need to do is overpay for an old, slow 4th line center!'?

And yeah, half of every game with Beagle and Sutter on the ice. What a great product to offer fans. Get ready for a 30th place finish in GF again.

I think we are overestimating what Sutter will get us in a trade. No one is going to acquire him for future considerations let alone give us draft picks with his cap hit, the best we can hope for is a 3rd or 4th rounder with retained salary.

If Jay f***ing Beagle gets 5 year term from this team at 3-4m I will no longer support this team.

why sign any bottom 6 center at all, at this point? Second line veteran who can stopgap the kids from being thrown under the production bus on a daily basis please.
