Some might say I'm crazy but Boro needs to be in the lineup next year. I'm still hoping for a De Haan signing, especially if we don't land Dahlin.

DeHaan-Karlsson
Chabot-Ceci
Boro-Wolanin(playing his off side I guess)

Pretty darn solid in my eyes.

If we land Dahlin and keep Karl, Ceci is extremely expendable and we can have a VERY good yet very inexpensive blue line next year, while saving for Karl's extension.

DeHaan (3 mil) - Karl (6.5)
Chabot (0.925) - Dahlin (0.925 with bonuses)
Boro (1.2) - Wolanin (0.925)

That's a very good blue line for 14 million, and Ceci can be used to get a young forward or late 1st.

Even though he's been injured most of the year, not a chance De Haan takes a pay cut. Another team will surely offer more than that. I'm thinking Michael Stone's contract as the floor (3.5mil/yr) and Christopher Tanev's contract (4.45mil/yr) as a ceiling.

Its a wonderful idea in theory. But no chance we roll out the dough on De haan Even if hes a local kid. Not eenough money to resign Ceci, Karlsson, Duchene and stone as it is on our budget

Is Wahlstrom a natural centre? Based on nothing but stats, position, and hearsay, I could see him be taken 3rd after Dahlin and Svech.

If Pittsburgh doesn't win the cup that pick is in the low 20's.

Anyone been scouting players in that range or know of our scout(s) following certain teams/players?

The goal Svechnikov scored today was something to behold

The more I see of this guy, the more i want.

I saw a game of his in Omaha December last year, it was incredible. Couldn't believe he was 16. He has +++ skills in every facet. Skating, shot, size, passing, vision, I.Q, puck handling. All in spades.

Yeah I get that. But I think Dorion is going to find a way to offload much more salary this summer.

Also serious question, the cap is going up 5 million. Does that mean that the NHL is expecting at least an average of ~5mil increases per team in revenue? Like how does the salary cap determined? And if that is true, with revenue sharing, is there any chance the our budget goes from 68 to 70-72 million? Or no freaking way?

His playmaking gets underrated because of his goalscoring I feel.

dude just consistently makes the right decisions every time. Elite understanding of the game, along with every other tool.

Laine, Eichel and Matthews level talent.

if the cap is going up by 5M then hockey related revenue is going up roughly 10M per team based on a 50/50 split. That's the quick answer without looking into the specifics of the NHLPA's escalator clauses.

Our primary sources of revenue are the Rogers and TSN TV deals. I am not sure of the structure of the Rogers deal but the TSN deal was widely reported to escalate over time.

If he passes thru 30 picks for attitude and defensive "issues" whole being one of the top3 most gifted defenders in the draft offensively then every team in the league is full of idiots.
No, it happens every year.

And it's not just attitude and defensive issues.

He quite literally may be the worst defensive player in the CHL.

He’s played on the wing all year on Jack Hughes’ line and I’d be surprised to see him play centre going forward. I’d take him before Tkachuk, but after Zadina.

If that’s the case why not play him at forward ?
I'm not sure, MA Bergeron survived at D on his offence and he was the worst defensive player in the league for a while.

Probably the same reason good defensive forwards who are bad at offence are not played at defence.
