My bracket was all kinds of messed up, but I got the champ right.

The Blues are no faster than us, and proved heavy hockey still wins when you have a good goalie and guys that can hit and score. Speed and skill only wins in the regular season, just ask Tampa.

Hehe,

The Jackets embarrassed Tampa. That fast and loose stuff works ok for the regular season, not so much for the playoffs.

Who knew that having a team that finished in the top 10 in both special teams and a team that was 5th best in GAA and gave up the 4th fewest shots on goal would eventually find success?

And the big and heavy Blues ranked 24th in the league in overall hits. The Kings placed 11th in that category. Clearly that is the measure for success.

FYI, the Kings ranked third overall in average team weight, fourth overall in average team height. The big, bad Kings just came off a very successful season, didn't they?

Pure and simple the Blues wanted it more, they left their guts on the ice. You have to be willing to sacrifice a lot of your body to win in the playoffs. The Kings no longer have that fire or will to do so.

Lack of will and fire shows up everywhere in the Kings game. Hopefully T-Mac can help them find it again. Like Sutter said though "You can't coach emotion into a player".

The Blues should ignore skill and favor size, like the Kings did in the first round of the 2010 draft. They made a huge mistake in selecting Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko, when they should have taken Nick Bjugstad and Derek Forbort instead. Can't win without size.

Everyone wants skill and speed, it's not some magic formula teams just discovered over the last three years.

You need to pick an identity for your team, draft those players to play it and execute it. Then hope you get buy in from everyone.

The same applies with this emphasis on size, which the Kings still have plenty of, and still somehow managed to have one of the worst seasons in franchise history.

You need a mix of both I would argue. But again that depends on if your players even buy into the system you want to play.

Good for the Blues. They along with the Jets were the least offensive choices for me from the West.

Fellow '67 expansion team. If you include the North Stars and the Seals merger with MIN, all 6 of them now have Cups.

Congrats to Jordan Nolan. Didn't even know he was on that team until I saw him on the ice at the end...

Same here, but this is actually my 2nd chance bracket (they created this after the 1st round because so many people sucked)

PS, an advice for you: never never predict a team to make the final for two years in a row. The 2016 & 2017 Pens were an exception.

Berube wasn’t good enough for Philly.

no, he wasn't good enough in Philly. He made a lot of mistakes and poor decisions. And I'm sure he learned by his mistakes and took that to St Louis. He did a good job, with a good group of players and a real leader in ROR

But without Binnington , he's playing golf in April.

Did anyone from NBC want the Blues to win? even doc sounded a bit saddened calling that final 10 seconds. There will be no city of champions in Boston tonight. Blues earned this cup.

not just NBC, NHL Network and other media forums. a majority wanted the Bruins to win and were disappointed. And as was mentioned, I enjoyed that slimy, excuse for a hockey player Marchand crying. Hope he remembers his lazy assed decision to hit the bench and let the Blues cruise past him to lead to the goal with 8 seconds left that put them up 2-0.

Nice job Blues, but they should of won the cup years ago. All they needed was a hot goaltender and they finally had one this year in Binnington.

The Blues can score, the Kings can't.

Oh, there’s a lot more the Kings can’t do, like pass, defend, kill penalties, be a threat on the power play...

I just find it funny that yet again, a number of Flyers move on to find success elsewhere, with Brayden Schenn also winning the Cup in addition to Berube, similar to what we witnessed with Richards and Carter.
