At least we had the excuse of chasing a 3rd cup in 5 years.

The Kings gave up two 1st's, the top prospect in the league, and a solid young forward before they ever got out of the 1st round. The risk taking started well before late June 2014.

The over/under in the amount of times we'll hear about Bobby Orr's goal is 30 . Place your bets.

Way over.

You also see Vladimir Tarasenko playing like Dustin Brown suddenly. He’s also more physical than anyone on the Kings blueline not named Kurtis. Pastrnak has also upped his physicality this post season for the Bruins. It’s nice to have talented forwards who play with their hearts on their sleeves.

Right--it's not about size per se. The 2014 Kings especially were monstrously skilled top to bottom. But remember Gaborik getting murdered all run and going back for more?

And let’s not forget that the Kings were still a “hard and heavy” team in 2016, and look what happened there. Anyone clamoring for the return of Lucic now? Chiarelli tried to bring those types to Edmonton and look at how that’s worked out.

You need players who pull their weight and excel at more than just one aspect of the game in order to survive in the playoffs. And the current Kings sure as hell aren’t a small, fast team. They’re also not a hard and heavy team. They’re more like a team that has stopped caring.

You also see both remaining teams are getting all four lines chipping in offensively and physically. Kind of like what we witnessed with Vegas and Washington last year.

Even forgetting the Cup advantage, the teams are 2-2 all-time in playoff series. They beat a Kings team without Kopitar and the stumbling mess that the '16 team became. Kings beat them in the 2nd Round and then the infamous Reverse Sweep which was made even sweeter by being the 2nd year in a row the Kings knocked them out in 7 games and they went on to win the Cup: again.

I hate Sharks fans but even them drawing last blood in 2016 and then basically winning every regular season game until this year doesn't even dent my feeling of superiority.

This is probably because I do most of my judgement based on visitors to Staples rather than the lowest common denominator that is the loudmouth internet trolls for each team's fan base on HF. San Jose fans have mostly been silenced by the Cups and the Reverse Sweep since they have very little to argue about in the face of the 2012-14 era since the Kings success during that time pretty much invalidates their previous argument of "at least we are good every year". Vegas fans, however, don't give a shit about the Cups any team has won except for Washington since they didn't exist prior to last year. They act like they've been kicking the Kings ass for their entire existence which they have but, like, it is only two seasons now and they act like we've been eating their ass for 20 years. That's why I hate them more than SJ fans: the latter have been cucked in the real world while Vegas fans are the worst in-person experience going at Staples now.

Totally agree that SJ HF contingent is more insufferable, however. No arguments there but I will say give the Vegas contingent time: they'll get there.
