Burns doesn't age though. Couture seems to be a young 30. Kane, 28. Hertl, 25/26. Labanc, 23. Meier, 23. Could have a decent amount of cap to play with. Probably not the last of the Sharks yet.

plus resigning meier whos gonna command a big raise

Sharks are in an ever growing bad spot, no cups, an aging expensive roster, and they traded away high draft picks for the next two drafts

So was all that freaking out about round 1 worth it? Patience is a virtue.

I never believed they were gonna make the Cup final, just that their path became easier once ALL the calls went their way. No hand pass, offsides, or 5 min major saved them tonight.

btw, anyone see Evander Kane? Me neither. 2 goals in the playoffs.

Someone on sportsnet brought this up too. Hard heavy hockey still wins in the playoffs, you just need guys who can score. All the super fast, skilled team are out...early.

You also see Vladimir Tarasenko playing like Dustin Brown suddenly. He’s also more physical than anyone on the Kings blueline not named Kurtis. Pastrnak has also upped his physicality this post season for the Bruins. It’s nice to have talented forwards who play with their hearts on their sleeves.

Listen, you don't get it, the consistency San Jose has shown since entering the league is remarkable. They've only missed the playoffs a few times. Most fanbases would dream to have that. :eyeroll:

The Wings too. But they have the Cups for being that consistent over the same time period. The Sharks are the Caps of the west, without Ovi.
