Not that it would even begin to pay them back for the heartbreak of 2010, but yeah, let’s do it anywayHabs had a great season, they absolutely over-achieved and should be proud, but let's end it Thursday.

Plus the teams chasing them would have to win out. Pens are making playoffs
That would be some must-see TV, that seriesIn the case of Pens falling to 8th I would root for them to beat Tampa
Distant memories...Not that it would even begin to pay them back for the heartbreak of 2010, but yeah, let’s do it anyway
Though Pens falling to 7th would be a disaster. In the case of Pens falling to 8th I would root for them to beat Tampa
Catastrophize much? Undesirable outcome sure, but the Caps can beat anyone if they play to their potential.Though Pens falling to 7th would be a disaster.
I don't think our outcome has anything to do with who or how the other team is playing. Its 100% about our effort, our GAS factor. Play like vs TB, we can beat anyone including TB in TB. Play like vs FL and we won't beat anyone. Its on us, not them.
The Caps had a pretty tough route last season to win it all.

Why worry about who we play in round 1? Beat whoever is in front of you. You could also argue that playing an easy opponent in the first round wouldn’t prepare you for the second.
I get the argument either way, but this isn’t something to stress about.
Breaking people's hearts and their hockey team
Ideal scenario is CAR --> NYI --> TOR (or the 8th seed, but that's not happening) --> someone beat up from the West.
So the Caps will probably get hot CBJ --> PIT --> TBL again.
They never seem to get to go around the obstacles in the playoffs, so they'll just have to go through them again.
I doubt Tavares plays the last game given that Leafs are locked into third place.Alright no goals for Draisaitl!!
Two games to go for Tavares (Bolts/Habs) and Draisaitl (Sharks/Flames) four goals behind. I won't feel Ovie is safe until the final whistle in the Oilers/Flames game.

A tooth and an orbital bone along the way.
Might not be a bad thing if Caps face a motivated Habs team on Thursday, knowing how uninspired their play was against an unmotivated (standings-wise) FLA team on Monday.
Ya but Kempny is gone. Caps need a easy first round to get the ball rolling. Carolina is a nice snack.Catastrophize much? Undesirable outcome sure, but the Caps can beat anyone if they play to their potential.
