Yeah the Habs aren't beating us in DC when we still have something to play for.

More I think about it, more I'd love to play the Pens in the first round, hurting and without their usual swagger. We'd probably face them down the road anyway, so why not get them out of the way first?

I don't think our outcome has anything to do with who or how the other team is playing. Its 100% about our effort, our GAS factor. Play like vs TB, we can beat anyone including TB in TB. Play like vs FL and we won't beat anyone. Its on us, not them.

Why worry about who we play in round 1? Beat whoever is in front of you. You could also argue that playing an easy opponent in the first round wouldn’t prepare you for the second.

I get the argument either way, but this isn’t something to stress about.

So the Caps will probably get hot CBJ --> PIT --> TBL again.

They never seem to get to go around the obstacles in the playoffs, so they'll just have to go through them again.

Might not be a bad thing if Caps face a motivated Habs team on Thursday, knowing how uninspired their play was against an unmotivated (standings-wise) FLA team on Monday.

It's something to ponder. I want payback for 2010 so eliminating them on Thursday is ok with me.
