Our top 6 Dee is really strong. And I like our depth. Sure they are 7th and 8th Dee but if we need them we have them.

I think i read earlier that Caps were in top 10 points from blue line. That went up tonight. Really like the Dee transformation this year. Doesn’t get enough love.

EDIT: There it is right above. Caps #4 O from D. And yes, probably went up from there.

Roshi’s gamepuck goes to Rasmus Sandin for not passing empty netter 2 seconds before whistle to Ovechkin.

Take a note Protas. Thats what you do.

Winning Avs away and shutting their top dogs feels like just another day at the office this season. We’ve come far in a year. The pessmistic in me is having trouble believing we are this good and waiting it all to burn and crash. Thanks for keeping me waiting for another game!

McMichael's second goal looked like superstar stuff. I told my dad a couple years ago he was gonna get 20 one of these years. Um, yeah, this is getting ridiculous right here.

That's the kind of win you see from really good teams. Holding MacKinnon and Makar to nada is rarely done by anyone. The Capitals are for real contenders--I am sure of this now.

Yea with Roy settling in, and Sandin doing his playmaking thing, our top 6 looks really strong and versatile. No easy feat shutting down the Avs top guys. Loved Fever absolutely destroying Mittelstadt. And Chychrun with another snipe.

With Eller onboard we have 4 fully functioning lines. Lots of depth and matchup issues for opposing teams. I know Vrana (like a Sprong) can aggravate coaches - but I enjoy the insta-offense guys when deployed smartly.

I always hoped we could re-tool for Ovi’s final years, where someone would step up as a goal scorer, so he wouldn’t have to be the guy every night. Never imagined that someone would be Mikey! Plus Strome, ofc.

The org did such an amazing job quickly refreshing this roster. Last year the Avs ran us out of that building. Fun times - let’s see if they can keep this up over the season.

What a game. Nice W.
Eller played less than 12 minutes but was very noticeable in a good way. Like it.

The only - is Ovi didn't score. Imagine scoring on both goalies he would add 2 other names on the list of his victims.

I couldn’t have been more wrong about a player. Small sample size but he looks like a completely different player. I was in the group of meh, trade him if it helps us, as I didn’t think he would amount to much more then a 3rd liner. Nice to be wrong. Hope he keeps it up

We are rapidly approaching “McMichael is going to take Ovechkin 9.5m cap hit” territory

Didn't watch. Which line was typically out there against MacKinnon?

Holding that dude to zero SOG is crazy, only the second time that's happened since March 2022.
The Dubois line and the Fehervary-TVR pairing had the most time against MacKinnon, though the Dowd line, Roy, and Chychrun had big chunks of it too.

Have no idea why the younglings think stache only is cool. It looks just as dumb in the 70s that I lived through as a child. Just stop its not like skinny jeans I can deal with that a bit but the porn staches need to frak off.
Most do it in November for prostate cancer.

I think the performance against Mackinnon may be even more impressive when considering Colorado got the home ice second change (and thus were able to dictate the matchups a bit more.)

I like looking at shift charts after most games to see how Carbs shortens the bench b/c he does it a ton

This might be the most even I've ever seen, his trust in Eller line is night/day v Lapi
tho' he did shorten bench a little down stretch (Vrana last 8min, Raddysh last 6min)

Locker actually had an astute observation re: number of icings, saying slowing down COL and making them start from faceoff was advantage for WSH not having them enter with speed...

while the last change matchups were the disadvantage, not entering with speed was more important
