I've been looking over the remaining games schedule for the regular season. Here are my thoughts.
I'm trying to be balanced in my assessments and saying a team is expected to win if they are playing a non-playoff
or bubble team.

The Blue Jackets have an easy schedule ahead. The Habs is more challenging and they are likely to fall short.
Even if they went 6-3 or 7-2 they could still miss the last spot

The West is pretty much a done deal. The Wild aren't even beating crappy teams (like Colorado tonight) and will almost certainly not make it.
Arizona have a very easy schedule and would have to be awful to miss the playoffs.
Colorado are an outside chance but they have a tough schedule and would need a couple of upsets to make it
Haven't had time yet to see what the likely playoff matchups will be based on remaining schedule. Obviously we know Bos-Tor and Lightning vs 8, but the rest still not decided.

The summer can be brutal, but it's nice being able to do most things outdoors 6-8 months of the year.
It doesn't hurt that "small city" life seems to fit me perfectly. Not much congestion, but closer to great restaurants, records stores, dog parks, and tons more stuff to do than I ever seemed to have nearby in MD.
No snow, hills of any kind, or Civil War history to speak of, though...

I think the Habs chances are pretty slim in making the playoffs. They would pretty much have to win the remainder of there games and the teams ahead of them would have to be mediocre. I also want the Coyotes to get in because they have played amazing this year and beyond expectations.
I've heard nothing but great things about living there if you have a family from my friends who have been stationed down there.
Not sure I could do the summers... I am a cold-weather bird. I essentially don't go outside unless I'm going to the beach in July and August in DC. I can't stand humidity.

I am currently at the Panthers/Yotes game with 3000 of my closest friends (and my son).
Also the food here is horrible. I will never complain about Capitol One again.
$16 to get in the door, sitting row two with this in front of me. Bit of a jersey foul but who am I to judge?

I rag on NHL.TV a lot and for good reason. But the new non-flash viewer is quite nice.
Thing is you get 2x more frames per second and see the puck much better.

The Isles have absolutely fallen apart. Canes are a bigger threat to win the division than the NYI at this point.
Love to see the Pens have to play the Canes.

What a horrible in game experience this has been. Literally the only good thing was sitting on the glass for $16.
No out of town scoreboard, no attempt to get the fans into the game, very quiet, older crowd. I don’t know how the players get up to play here.

Getting the right help so far. TB up 2 on Canes, Aisles getting crushed. Just need Preds to TCB on Pens.
With Aisles losing 5-0 and now 4-0, their goal differential with us is now a negative. Went from +8 to -1 in two games.

Makes one wonder about the wisdom of TR pulling Holtby last Saturday after the Caps were already down 3-5 with <1 minute to play. Unlikely that it will make a difference in the final standings, but no reason to take that chance.
