Man, I love seeing those old Google groups.

It's fun to look back at shitty times. Like when every year there'd be a holdout.
In 1998, the Kings had about four holdouts: Rob Blake, Aki Berg, Matt Johnson, and Jamie Storr.

And I found a heated discussion about his holdout. Funny stuff.

Yeah looks like it was retweeted today as a reminder of the games starting this weekend.

And going back to Vilardi, it’s depressing to think back on how many former top Kings prospects who were highly touted at one point were hampered by injuries throughout their careers.

Scott Barney and Jared Aulin come to mind. Jamie Storr also never seemed to be healthy. Hopefully Vilardi isn’t added to that list of “what could have been.”

very disappointing to see this is most likely our team on opening night

when in reality... Clifford and Thompson are done, Brodzinski is nothing special, Lewis is a strong 4th liner, Brown & Toffoli are enigmatic and most likely belong in the 2 and 3 holes

and most of us hope that a Rempal could come in and be a big surprise, or that guys like Brickley, Ladue, Clague become solid enough to make Martinez / Muzzin expendable in a trade for a top six winger

but as is... (also don't forget who our coach is...)

it'll be another long battle of a season

Every time I see Clifford in the line up it makes me want to throw up.

Thompson is so useless as well.

Lewis is a strong 3rd line wing.

16 goal/30 point pace when extrapolating to 82 games and that's with him not being the same following the injury.

I love the speed of that 3rd line. Iafallo as LW3 is perfect.

Of course it is going to be a long battle of a season. Would be whether Vilardi was up or not.

Seems like we are already getting the pitchforks out for the 4th line being the reason things are tough when it all comes down primarily to the play of 1-9 and 1-4 and, more to the point, 1-6.

I wish I could sticky the average production of bottom sixers around the league to the top of every thread so people can stop posting the same misinformation every time it gets bumped off the page.

I wasn't a big fan of Thompsons game last year. Looks like we have a fourth line on the downside of his career and that is not good.

Fair enough but we won't know that until Carter steps foot on the ice this season Do we get the Carter of the last few regular season games? Or do we get the Carter of the playoffs? Toffoli and Pearson are also big question marks at this point.

Some of the people on this forum expect our 4th liners to be fast, good defensively, win face-offs, have at least 25 point seasons, able to beat up guys like Reaves, and throw massive body checks.

Our 4th line produced the same as Tampa's. You guys just have unrealistic expectations.

Just remember if your 4th/3rd line player produces anywhere near Casey Cizikas, you have an excellent bottom six player. Cizikas might be the best 3/4 center in the league.

Our 4th line is not good, but whatever. The bigger issue is it's 2018-2019 and the Kings are counting on the 70's line to still be a thing. I am still shocked that with how poorly he played that Toffoli was brought back.

There is alot of upside to the top 6 but they also have more question marks than the Riddler's suit. Kopitar is the only guy you can really be 100% sure on.

My issue with Clifford is that hes slow, sucks at fighting, over paid, and doesn't do anything particularly well at all so he's useless for the most part. It shouldn't be hard to find fourth liners with more to offer than him.


Anyone saying "ITZ NORMAL!!!!" are out to lunch. Dude sucks.
