Agreed. Amadio works his azz off in the Summer, is stronger, quicker and shows he can play as a 2 way center and helps elevate Pearson and Toffoli's games...and Brown gets hurt - so
we actually REALLY NEED Amadio's production...and he gets demoted? I would have actually considered him to move up to line 2 and center Pearson and Carter (Carter move to RW)
So Brown gets hurt and Kempe (who has made some bad passes / plays, but is back to producing some) goes from line 2 to 3 and Amadio goes from line 3 to 4. Lunacy.
I'll go as far as saying after Kopitar and Kovalchuk, Amadio may be the next best at creating offense. Carter creates chances, including many of his own, but Amadio is a gifted
playmaker and just hitting his stride. Worse place for him is line 4.
somewhat meaningless fact...but when Amadio was in Bantam and then Midget, he was scoring over 3.5 pts a game and then over 2 pts a game...kind of Gretky-esque, Lemieux-esque
Lindros-esque freakish numbers...and then he was a top selction in the OHL and it took him a few yrs to get to that 50 goal year. He had the ability, he just needed to be physically
stronger and quicker to become elite...and it took him a year + in the AHL..but he emerged to be Ontario's top player...then last year, he had some good showings (a 2 goal game) and
was adjusting. To get to where he needs to be, he needed to get stronger and improve quickness...he just did that! He may emerge to become better than Kempe, Toffoi and Pearson.
It's awesome to see. Please get him off the 4th line.
Freaky numbers: 134 pts in 39 games and then 19 pts in 6 playoff games. 2011
