I'm disappointed with "That 70s" line being reunited.

Agree that Amadio should get better wingers.
Yeah, I would have liked to see what Pearson - Amadio - ???? could have done. I used to think Pearson and Toffoli were developing some chemistry, but that fizzled out.

I'm bummed that Pearson and Toffoli never took the next steps we were all hoping they would. They've regressed, if anything. I honestly think they're best suited on the third line.

Pearson at least has some speed, has been learning to screen the goalie and can fore check. I want to love Toffoli but he really doesn't do anything if he isn't scoring, and he doesn't do that enough.

Didn't we all agree that Clifford's long-term development may have suffered due to being rushed into the NHL?

Yes we did. Same with Brown. The best thing to happen to his early career was the lockout season when he played in the AHL. It's funny how DL preached we wouldn't rush the young guys, yet...

If kempe can take a step forward, along with (hopefully) the emergence of JAD, Amadio.....perhaps this is the year Toffoli can be used as tradebait for a RD, or even a 1st round pick to plan for the present and future. He is quickly becoming a younger version of an old Gaborik.

Waste of time to send Amadio back down to the 4th line. His line scored 12 pts in the preseason when he finally had some talent to work with, and he tied for the team lead in scoring.

Agreed. Amadio works his azz off in the Summer, is stronger, quicker and shows he can play as a 2 way center and helps elevate Pearson and Toffoli's games...and Brown gets hurt - so
we actually REALLY NEED Amadio's production...and he gets demoted? I would have actually considered him to move up to line 2 and center Pearson and Carter (Carter move to RW)
So Brown gets hurt and Kempe (who has made some bad passes / plays, but is back to producing some) goes from line 2 to 3 and Amadio goes from line 3 to 4. Lunacy.
I'll go as far as saying after Kopitar and Kovalchuk, Amadio may be the next best at creating offense. Carter creates chances, including many of his own, but Amadio is a gifted
playmaker and just hitting his stride. Worse place for him is line 4.

somewhat meaningless fact...but when Amadio was in Bantam and then Midget, he was scoring over 3.5 pts a game and then over 2 pts a game...kind of Gretky-esque, Lemieux-esque
Lindros-esque freakish numbers...and then he was a top selction in the OHL and it took him a few yrs to get to that 50 goal year. He had the ability, he just needed to be physically
stronger and quicker to become elite...and it took him a year + in the AHL..but he emerged to be Ontario's top player...then last year, he had some good showings (a 2 goal game) and
was adjusting. To get to where he needs to be, he needed to get stronger and improve quickness...he just did that! He may emerge to become better than Kempe, Toffoi and Pearson.
It's awesome to see. Please get him off the 4th line.

Freaky numbers: 134 pts in 39 games and then 19 pts in 6 playoff games. 2011

Not many people agree with me on this, but I've always said from day 1 since watching Kempe and Amadio in the AHL, both together and separately, that Amadio is the overall better hockey player. He's obviously not as gifted with his skating (which is a big deal), but I feel he is better at most faucets of the game that make you a better team hockey player, particularly his gifted passing vision. I'm not saying Amadio is a star in the making, but he can end up being one of the best 3C's in the game. I may have a bias, since Kempe's game has always frustrated me from day one as being a one on one point guard, a man without a country, who never seems to be able to consistently gel on a set line. And his habit of taking penalties rubs me the wrong way. They are the same age, so we'll see how it plays out. I just hope Amadio is not buried again by Stevens.

Geez, the lines we have now, aren’t set in stone. If Amadio performs like we think he will, I believe that he’ll move up to the third line, as well as get PP time.

The kid has talent. He will move up.

I mean I thought that last year too. His production vs. ice time was good, and he was earning PP2 time even, yet they kept him buried on the 4th without even trying him up.

Also Stevens and the org have been praising him hard all summer so in line with everything else he's probably f***ing benched and we'll get a 4th line of Clifford-LaDue-Thompson.

It's been a long time since I've been this mad at the team. Maybe the dying breaths of Terry Murray. Pretty close to rooting for utter failure to flush Stevens. Unfortunately now he has an alibi with injuries so he can go full stupid without reservation.

Its almost as if losing your best winger to injury has a cascading effect on the roster.

Which in and of itself is totally understandable. And I know those lines aren't set in stone so we'll hopefully see things like JAD moving up.

But lots of it is not understandable, like 6-feet-undering amadio, going from "is wagner going to make the team?" to the third line, and the completely stupid insistence on going back to the worst defensive pairing in the league again and again, sitting our only other RHD, etc. It's like he went of his way to turn the remaining parts into the worst possible lineup.

especially mad about Amadio, and this also means that Stevens is just going to ride Kopitar into the ground right from the start.

Stevens is gonna go with the Bassomatic blender until Brown comes back. If you're a Kings center you will never know who is on your wing until you hit the ice. Could be Dionne, Grimson, Schuchuk, Klima maybe even #77 Rob Cowie with his potent clap bombs will get a shift or two.

Did someone say Gary Shuchuk?

I really think we should try Lubo on the wing.
