Rumor: 2018-19 Kings News/Rumors/Tidbits

For perspective:

We signed Demitra for 4.5M in 2006. He was coming off a 28g 70pt pace season. He was 30 years old. Today that would translate to a 9M cap hit.

So yes, don't be surprised if Paciorietty gets 8M, Panarin gets 10M and Tavares gets 12M.

Kovalchuk's 6.25M is the equivalent of 3.13M in 2006. If he scores 30 goals for us it's a fantastic deal for a UFA.

LOL, well, off the top of your head, 13 players....out of 62 possible spots....um, ok, and you say he's mid tier...I guess if your tiers for W's are soft...

And absolutely his 37 point season counts, but it doesn't discount his string of SIX 30 goal seasons, (now one was shortened so it would have to be pro-rated, but was on pace) so if you want to be anal, 5 of 6 seasons 30 goal seasons, you seem to discount....because he was injured, and on a really really bad team...

Poor playoff peformances...again...not true, 7 points in 11 games, NOT POOR, 11 points in 17 games, NOT POOR....

Just amazing...

This is such a bizarre nitpick that really only comes down to semantics.

I think Pacioretty is a tier below the best wingers in the league. I listed over a dozen I'd take over Pacioretty. I don't think Pacioretty is a poor player. I actually wouldn't complain about a 6x6 deal. But is he on the level of Panarin, Kane, or Ovechkin? Absolutely not.

I suppose you have a much broader egalitarian tier system in your own head. That's fine. Pacioretty, to me, is right around the Tarasenkos of the league: a nice piece, but not quite in that upper echelon.

I think I see the problem, I see Tarasenko as dynamic, like a Panarin, I don't think Max P is dynamic, but he is a helluva goal scorer, better than anyone on the Kings now....

Just irritating to see the justification of people because we didn't get him, or the price he wants etc,

Not really. Kovalchuk and Carter are better at sniping. We’re paying them nearly 6 million a year.

I’m fine with a 6x6 deal, but a 8x8 deal will backfire.

Translation

I am always surprised that some advance the names of players in an MTL-LA transaction negotiation for Pacioretty while there has never been any negotiations between the two clubs, just a green light given to the Kings to speak to the captain of the #CH

I don't at all doubt they're pissed at Carter because I know how peeved we still are at Roenick.

However, when it keeps happening, at what point do you hold others responsible?

"f*** Carter" became "f*** Nash" became "f*** Gaborik" became "f*** RyJo" is becoming "f*** Panarin."

I can’t resist this thread. I’m going in, boys.

Rosen responded to a Pejorative Slured article claiming we almost traded Doughty for Max PAC and Weber saying in his comments that no hold ups are expected in Doughtys resigning. Everyone Including Blake Luc and Rosen making it seem like he’s already resigned . I’m excited

We're gonna get arguably the best forward prospect not in the NHL for a pending UFA coming off his worst year!

It's like they haven't watched Bergevin self-immolate every time he makes a move. Impressed by the eternal hope I guess.
