WC: 2017 Team Finland

Would more goals if the games were still losses have changed the results?

Besides, anyone with a brain shouldn't give a rat's backside about the World Cup results. Nor should they give that about EHT results.

This tournament is a different matter however. Feel free to [female dog] if the results are abysmal.

****ing embarrasing... we might not have the best roster this year, but this is inexcusable. Nothing away from France (they played well and were effective), but 5 ****ing 1? You can't call that a fluke. MARJAMÄKI OUT!
 
Paskamäki out. He sucks as a coach, simple as that. For once, we have coaching problem. Its rare for team finland

Paskamäki is the reason Laine risto ect are out. Paskamäki is the reason our play is this mess. Paskamäki doesn't regonize good players. Paskamäki selected wrong players. Only win paskamäki has in his recods in major tourneys is ot win against BELARUS. Paskamäki sucks.
 
I'll say it again. It was frustrating to see Pulju get his chance when he was at his worst. He belongs to the top9 and brings 2 things this team desperately needs.

It would help if they would have atleast looked good once, showed some signs of potential during this season.

But as the season goes I have to say the same thing, or ask.
Where's the creativity, where's the speed.
 
Before we start raging too much, might I remind you that J.Jalonen lost to Denmark 5-1 in 2010? Getting rid of him back then would've obviously meant that 2011 would've never happened.

What happens next is not Marjamäki out, but now we'll see if he got a wake up call and how that affects the next game.

Though I must say, if the effect is not positive, then... fass, get at him, I guess.

I believe Laine left out because it's the best thing for his future.
No knee injury this offseason and skating weakness that needs to be addressed and that takes time.

But once more, this isn't just about 1 game. It's the whole damm year.
 
Whose idea those PP units are? Just jesus christ.

To me they should be pretty simple:

Aho and Rantanen are on the right side passing the puck, Puljujärvi and Honka shoot the puck from the left/middle. Lajunen stands in front of the goalie.

Puljujärvi - Lajunen - Rantanen
Honka - Aho

Pyörälä in the middle for deflections, Kemppainen stands in front the goalie. Filppula on side of the net with Aaltonen as the shooter

Pyörälä - Kemppainen - Filppula
Hietanen - M.Aaltonen

I really respect you as a poster, but you have to stop defending Marjamäki. It's cringeworthy to read.
Of course Finland has a shot against CZE, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Marjamäki should be out right now. He sucks. It isnt just one game. We barely won belarus on OT, our world cup play was like tukehtunut. Our play even in EHT was mess.

Jalonen had lots of going for him, marjamäki has failed everything he has done.

Well, they obviously aren't getting rid of him before tomorrow, even if we all call for it here 'til our throats are hoarse.

So might as well cross the fingers and hope he learnt something from this.

There is no point in kicking Marjamäki out at the middle of tournament. Biggest mistakes were made during team selection. Sure some of the biggest stars declined but even I could have picked a much better team from the available players. This is Marjamäki's team so if anyone is going to turn this it's him. I still believe this team will get to QF but after that it's gonna be hard. And even the worst case scenario they aren't going to get relegated.

On the other hand I wouldn't be confident in going to Olympics with Marjamäki. The team would still have his favorite Kärpät players. It also seems he really can't sell his idea in short tournaments. Propably the reason why he prefers his friends so much.

There is absolutely a point of kicking him out. **** hockey, awful lines/units and no results. It can't go any worse with a different coach.
 
If he's kicked out, who would replace him? Realistically speaking.

It doesnt matter at this point. Theres plenty of solid hockey coaches in Finland and wed get some one with 100percent cerntainty. As long as its not raivo summanen its fine. Even Tami would, realisticly speaking, be less joke than marjamäki.

If you can't offer a more tangible solution than that, you might as well accept we're stuck with him for now.

You don't have to like it, but that's what it is. And the energy spent raging would be better spent hoping. Because there isn't anything else to be done.

In all reality he isn't going to be kicked in the middle of the tournament. It's something that's not even worth the talk. But I sure hope Liitto is going to think hard for the Olympics. It's such a big tournament that it shouldn't be hard to find quality finnish coach for that.

There's a real possibility to win Olympics but it's not going to happen with Lates Kärppä team.
 
Lmao what an overreaction. It's just a one game. If the whole tournament goes badly then yes kick Marjamaki and get someone else for olympics. It's not like Jalonen's road to gold was all smooth sailing.

Congratz for France a blowout win. Finland has never lost this badly in Football against France.
