Yes, it wasn't just the Flyers added. Killorn and Comrie are new names. I'm not big on Comrie (American) and Killorn is a waste to me. I understand adding young guys with potential like Point or Konecny, as even though they aren't the best available players they could be useful for Canada in the future. Killorn is an adequate NHLer, but he's not particularly good for this level or above and that is not going to change.

Couturier is a very good add. I suspect that he will be very beneficial to Canada's young defencemen.

Looks like we can expect Canada to add two more forwards and two more defencemen. I wouldn't be surprised to see offers extended to some first round goaltending casualties, despite Canada generally going with two goaltenders for the last few years.

You never really know what a player is going to bring. As far as Kilorne goes, who knows. I would have never thought a line of Armstrong-Meyers-Mac(something, can't remember) was going to be a very good line.

These aren't Olympic or all-star teams, as long as the guy is willing to skate and is coachable, then they can chip in.

Anything is possible, but I wouldn't bet on him being overly useful. The bigger issue is that it is a wasted development opportunity. Hearing that Horvat and Reinhart, better players right now who still have time to develop quite a bit, were not even invited while Killorn was is a disappointment.

God, the goaltending is kinda nervewracking

Dubnyk could become available after today

Also, apparently Horvat declined because of his contract situation

Love the skaters I feel like it's a slightly better group than a lot of years

Hopefully Monahan goes.

That goaltending duo is terrifying. I'm fine with Pickard as a back-up but Eric Comrie? Could they not have waited a week or so? The tourney doesn't start for a while.

Dubnyk, Elliott, Crawford could all go, though I doubt Crawford would. Elliott has a contract to play for.

D is actually what looks really weak to me, could use a few more top pairing guys in there.

Fun group of forwards though, will be interesting to see the lines.

I wouldn't be so quick to give Monahan an invite just yet. Quickly running out of Center/LW positions, so I'd hold off until I figure out what's up with McDavid. If McDavid wants to play, then I'd take McDavid over Monahan. I'd prefer Monahan over Courturier, but Hockey Canada already invited Couturier.

I don't see the rush. Hockey Canada doesn't hold a training camp in Toronto before departing for Europe. They'll have a 3 day mini-camp somewhere, perhaps Switzerland, a week before the tournament starts, play 1 exhibition game and then start the tournament. A routine which I strongly criticized for years BTW. but since it has worked the last 2 years...not much to complain about really.

based on the players already named, here's what we have and what is still missing. 3 forwards. Hoping for McDavid and a couple of wingers. A #1 and #2 D-man. Calgary's duo would be nice. and a #1 goalie.

This is going to be exciting tournament from the Flyers standpoint, hopefully Konecny will play as much as possible. Canada is looking just great, just like past 2 years. I am surprised about Comrie, but I think Canada is waiting for Dubnyk/Crawford/Elliott and I think that this time Hextall and co. wants 3 goalies there.

Comrie is the type of goalie who will fill the role for 3rd one just fine. Very young goalie from the AHL who's gaining experience.

Oh, Elliott is UFA, never mind, didn't know.

is he the Calgary goalie ? 4 straight ? he couldnt steal 1 game? forget him

Сanada can add 3d and 3 f

Why not?

Hockey Canada doesn't like to have 8 defencemen or 14 forwards at this tournament because that leaves players not even on the bench after they committed nearly a month to Hockey Canada. That's what reporters (Friedman specifically I think) have said. They do add players sometimes (last two years notably) but in general it is avoided.
